Guys,

Its going on great. What we can do is once we have the confirmed list of people and available vehicles we can meet sort the transportation & for those not taking cars can meet at Honest accordingly and jump into the UV's . I don't see a point getting 1 vehicle per head

Cars confirmed as of now :
1. EssYouWe - Scorpio
2. AVR - 540

If required I can take my Cedia too. I don't think it should be a problem.

@devarshi84 printing maps is a good idea. As it is we all going to start from Honest together so it wont be required but better to be on safer side.

@pankay & @essyouwe, it is the Honest at judges bungalow cross road. You have got it right.

I will be bringing my Punto. One question though, are friends... say one or two... allowed? Fans of TeamBHP, but haven't made it in yet!

If someone else has a UV we can fit 4 per car. Otherwise my car is also available. I guess we can work out on the car stuff on the spot.

I know we will be driving togather but the maps will be a safe bet just in case.
I have been there a couple of times so that should not be an issue.

PS: Carry your sweaters/Jackets/caps as Thol lake will be cooler than Ahmedabad and the morning will just help the chill. Wear Trekking shoes or sneakers and refrain from wearing loafers or floaters. Those who are into photography or bird watching (no double meaning here :P) can prepare their cameras.

1. Cars(one more UV needed) - EssYouWe, AVR (Harshal/devarshi84 are available)
2. Maps- devarshi84
3. Water- ???
4. Anything else that comes to mind?

I am at Amritsir just now, on a drive holiday through HP and around, will be back after 28th.

4th / 5th is OK for me, but I guess since you guys have frozen plans, I'd miss it. Have a great time.

I've been to Thol, you need to be early in before 6 AM to see some birds before they leave their nests, it would be very cold in the morning.

The route is simple, head out to Bhopal, go past SanskarDham, hit the Kalol Sanand Road, take a right turn, keep driving after Starz Club, NK Protoens / Symphony Factory and you'd find a small board around there to the left for Thol, narrow and single track, broken in places, there's an entry fee. Last time I was there, I had to back up my Scirpio 200 mtrs to let a tractor pass.

Thor Lake on 28th morning sounds very exciting. I have been there thrice with my Youth Hostel unit but every time in the evenings. So this will a great opportunity to see the birds in the morning. They are charging about 200 bucks for entry of each car in the sanctuary. So we shouldn't take more cars then what we require. I can bring my Innova. I will also try to inquire whether migratory birds have arrived.

One more suggestion to all is to share some personal info about the participants of the meet. I will start with myself.

I am Rutvij Shah 34/m practicing as chartered accountant in Ahmedabad. I love traveling, reading, watching TV and playing Tennis. I am a actively associated with Rotary Club Ahmedabad Metro. And if I am not mistaken I am the senior most Bhpian amongst the participants!

@ ramkya1
I guess route from Thaltej-Rancharda will be shorter one.

@rutvij

Your innova + scoripo + jeep should be a perfect option. if reqd we can add 1 more car and we all can fit in. with 200 bucks per car fee, we should go in minimal cars.

THOL is going to be exciting. Really looking forward to this meet.

Updated list :

1. Harshal
2. Aditya
3. @tombum
4. Rutvij,
5. bapu
6. hiren959
7. pankaj_sachdeva
8. devarshi84
9. EssYouWe
10. teknophobia
11. nisarg86
12. 9thsphinx
13. whistlingwoodz

Good idea for intros.

Looking forward to this meet.

Guys if we all can split up "things to carry" it will be a good idea.
1. Water
2. Snacks / munching etc.
etc. etc.

Looking at the increase in people we will need one more car just in case.

Epicenter.rulez- we can definitely plan something for those who are not going to be able to make it this time. But let us take one meet at a time.

Don't think there's a 200 rs entry fee because I went there a few weeks back and we weren't really charged that much amount. Don't know how much as I was driving so my friend went and paid.

Nevertheless keeping cars to a minimum is a good idea. Looking forward to seeing you all.

As a way of introduction, am Aditya Rathore - Love cars but more obsessed with SUVs/Jeeps and off-roading. Work as a Analytics Consultant in Ahmedabad.

Cheers,
Aditya

Good job folks on the planning part. I am so looking forward to it.

On the intros: Pankaj Sachdeva 30 M, work as a Manager in Pharma domain

Moved recently to Ahmedabad. I love traveling big time and have made my job change (every few years) an excuse for exploring new places. Other interests are watching TV and movies and listening to music.

Cheers,
pankaj

Devarshi Fadia, 26/M, Entrepreneur in textile industry. I go gymming and play tennis regularly and pursue blogging on automobiles and adventure sports in my free time.

1. Cars- EssYouWe, AVR,Rutvij (Harshal/devarshi84 are available)
2. Maps- devarshi84
3. Water(6 litres)- we may need 1-2 litre bottles per car.
4. Snacks- Chips or biscuits if anyone wants to but we will take a stop at a chaiwala on our way back anyways.

And let me stress again. Wear proper winter attire since its breezy and cooler than Ahmedabad and since we are going early it will just be more chilling. Refrain from wearing floaters and loafers and bring your cameras.
