Guys, is 13th the final date? I am planning to make a Shirdi trip in my new Manza on that day. Will be getting it on 9th finally this month.

@Anvancy - We can have the Drive Meet and within the group of cars you can pick up any lucky car for that day's photoshoot.

Based on the list of confirmed attendees i think the plan is on as of now. But you don't have to worry. Looking at the enthusiastic participation of fellow BHPians the next meet would be quite soon. We would love to see the new MANZA.

The breakfast meet was done on 27th Feb if that is what you meant by the Tea meet. The drive meet on 13th was suggested by folks during that meet.

Thar, Go for the Canon 1000D (Digital Rebel XS as it is also called) It has pretty good features, and more than sufficient capabilities to begin with. The major missing features opposed to the 500D are - no HD Video, lesser AF points, 10MP compared to 15MP, lower ISO limit. But, it also costs around 12k less than the 500D.
I had walked into the shop to get myself a 500D. But then, it comes with an 18-55IS kit lens, which is good for GP wide angle and zoom, but pretty limited when you go out of the home. We at least need a 55-250IS tele lens for outdoors. It costs around 10.5k more. So I opted for 1000D and got a 55-250 lens. That gives you a composite range from 18 to 250mm (using the kit 18-55) in less than the price of 500D with basic lens. I feel a 1000D with larger lens collection is better - unless you see yourself becoming Anvay (Anvancy) in a very near future SORRY!


Okay An update - I'm trying to get my service appointment preponed. Let's see if that works. Someone suggested earlier that I go to Bhosari, but its practically impossible given that I live in Kothrud.

@Anvancy: !!!!!!!!!.. Thats all that came to my mind after seeing those snaps!. Man you are brilliant and then some! If 4 photos are like this, i cant wait for the remaning ones. Anvay, RESPECT my friend. Thanks would be a very mild word for the efforts taken by you and Reinhard. In the most humble way, i thank you from the bottom of my heart.

@All: People, i know we all are excited for the meet, but honestly, ANYWHERE, is really not helping. Its only 10 days or so for the next meet. Lets decide on a place.
My vote goes to Lavasa, only because, as most of us stated last Sunday, Mulshi would be beautiful only during rains.

Regarding food, if we do finalise Lavasa, we can have lunch at the restaurant/s in there. Be prepared to shell out extra dough as Lavasa is not cheap.
If not, then we can have lunch at Buninda Dhaba. This place is right after the Pirangut ghat towards Lavasa. Decent place, lovely food and has been there for ages. I vouch for the quality of food there (I can speak only for Non Veg though, never tried Veg there).

@Swanand - Agree that we need to finalize the place. From Poll count perspective we should consider Anywhere as both Lavasa and Mulshi. So this should give us an idea about the preference of people.

But what about the issue of such a large number of cars going to Lavasa? Any problems with entry. This still needs to be confirmed/answered.

Coming down to the countdown , Lets keep the choice of place end by tomorrow , . The general inclination seems to be Lavasa till time .

EDIT : The entry to Lavasa might just be problematic with such a convoy of auto enthusiasts , any pointers if we can get some prior permission from authorities for entering the premise .

I doubt that would be a problem. They want people in there for various reasons. So i do not foresee any problems for letting a convoy in.

However, crowd remains an issue. Plus, if we were to have lunch at that place (forgot the name) then parking may be a problem as they have very limited parking space and its on an incline.

If we plan Mulshi, then , lunch options open up quite a lot.

EDIT: Sorry for the OT.Is it just me, or people working in Hinjewadi get time to log on to TBHP only in office.

And yes, even though I'm still not in the attendees list, guys, please cast your concrete vote to a destination OR suggest other places that you know. We can also ponder about them. "Anywhere" is a vote like those with "abstained" in Lok-Sabha. Waste of a vote :(
