re: ext Tapri meet in Pune - 8th May Drive & Lunch Meet: Mulshi

Proposal
if you guys want to have a short and sweet drive, click some snaps, maybe have lunch and return then how about ~
Fort Jadhavgadh
Exiting pune from hadapsar side. Approx time to reach destination is 1 hour.
Whats included?
Short drive distance, couple of breathtaking views, well restored fort hotel with nice garden and shady trees, good photo ops, great food at the hotel although expensive could find out about group booking.
Let me know what you think.
Drive safe!

All these places are on Pune-Nasik sector though I not sure of the distances or availability of shaded area/parking - I guess with summer approaching, this would be a standard problem.

Nice options at least different from regular option, let's find out some details about this.

re: ext Tapri meet in Pune - 8th May Drive & Lunch Meet: Mulshi

We all have begun hunting places for the next drive already! Awesome! Admire the enthusiasm of the members!

@mdsaab: Fort Jadhavgarh sounds like a brilliant option. One day trips incl of food is Rs.500 PP incl taxes (group bookings may be cheaper).

Other options could be:
1. Amby Valley drive (Mumbai guys can also join this meet).
2. Old Bombay Pune Highway (Karla caves or something like that), plus lunch either at Tony or Sunny Dhaba (brilliant food). Again, Mumbai BHPians can also join.
3. Kaas/ Sajjangadh (Dont know how hot it would be though).
4. In case we are looking at some fun activities, there is a place called Adventure Plus, in Bhor. Again that is a full day activity (Rock climbing, Kayaking, Water sports, et al). Per day is Rs. 750 PP (incl food - VEG only!). Group booking may be cheaper.

These are the options coming to my mind as I type. Some brainstorming would generate more options for sure.

My Sony digicam has HD video. I just rested it on top of steering wheel- never took my eyes off the road while shooting which is why am satisfied with the quality of video. And yes the AT defineitely helped!

Wow logging in after a long time.. some really cool snaps guys. Expected to see a few more.

And Noopster i really appretiate your generous comments. thanks buddy!

I would like to add to mdsaab's sugession . there is a vintage rally happening on the 27th or so at Jadhavgadh i suppose as i was informed. so why not have a mini meet there?

We would be able to see some beauties (cars ofcourse..lol) and have a meet and some munchies.

what say guys?

been there , roads were not good then for low slung cars ( ok for Jeeps ) we took our bikes on the village foot track ( Paay wat ) to the tree its some 2 km from the village

but I dont know about recent times , its a small village so there is a ? about roads

2. Nighok - river potholes(?!)
Nighoj , Ranjan khalge > Nagar road side ?

Quote:
3. kotul - inverted salt columns
this is more of a scientific purpose , can our lot accept it ?

If you guys want similar trip/meet like lavasa,
i suggest,
nh4-kapurhol-ketkavale balaji temple-narayanpur-purander fort-saswad-jadhav gad-hadpsar-pune.

This route/circuit will easily eat 7-8 hours including activities, stop and lunch.

If I am not mistaken, believe Bhuleshwar is a short detour along the way.

1] There was multicity drive meet at kaas last sept.
Guys from banglore, mumbai, pune and 12mati participated in this successfull drive meet.
kaas plateau flower show happens during sept every year.
No point going there in summer.

2] Bhor ghat?????
Do yo mean Bor-ghat[ mumbai-pune ghat] or ghat after Bhor town while going to Mahad, then its Varandha ghat.
Varandha ghat is best during monsoon.

I am sure most guys know that the places proposed are good only during the monsoons. My proposal is to drive to Harihareshwar early morning, play in the sea have some lunch in Diveagar and drive back by night!!

I will sure join if this drive meet happens!
