Is there any good car washing/ detailing shop in the vicinity of Tambaram? For reference, I stay near Bharath University, Selaiyur. Any recommendations within 5-6 Kms distance would be great.

@pganapathy. You’ll never believe how it was in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. Now one can’t even walk on that main road or cross it for that inevitable cup of tea on the other side. In those days some of our professors used to live in and around Selaiyur and Camp Road. Now I believe that real estate prices around those areas have absolutely sky rocketed. Unbelievable.

But the sadder part is, that the wetlands and swampy areas of Palliakaranai and Palavanthangal which used to be an excellent bird watcher’s paradise, have now deteriorated into dump yards for the ever increasing garbage from the city of Madras and its surrounds.

Reading my lament, I am sure our Senior friend Mr @Tilt will have a lot more to add.
