Re: Thread exclusively on Tambaram, residents please chip in.

Just cleared my plate-I've sent in my details.

Is there a hardcore scooter fan here. I own a 1997 BAJAJ CLASSIC which was once shod with rally tyres and tuned to do a max speed of 105kmph. Now I want to restore it as there are rust spots coming in. Still she does her rounds as a grocery shop goer and as a SURPRISE SHOOTER at 85kmph on the roads overtaking all bikes and spewing white smoke. Please let me know if there is any good spare parts shop for getting indicators and switches for BAJAJ CLASSIC

Please also let me know if there is any shop (other than the Sheriff's at Pudupet) which can help source a brand new Carb for a 1993 Yezdi Roadking in Chennai.

Hello All, how about a drive to TADA falls or Pitchavaram or atleast to the nearby Muthukad. Xing, as you had suggested earlier, could you please schedule something in advance and keep our calendars blocked-You're the Super Admin for the Tambaram TBHP meets

Hi JEHU,
Thanks for the information. The idea actually looks good. I am currently in Shanghai I might be here for some two or three more weeks.
Anyway that should not stop you guys from planning any meet.

We can have another meet when I am back

Re: Thread exclusively on Tambaram, residents please chip in.

Is there a solution for people taking the GST in the evenings from Mahindra city?

Yesterday the delay was close to 2 hours. My wife started at 7 and reached home at 9. Stuck near Vandalur for close to 1 hour.

The goverment has to step in to fix this. This is the laziest road project i have ever seen. They cant even complete the two flyovers in time.

Imagine the traffic once they start working on perungalathur fly over.

I am trying to convince my wife that train is far safer and faster. I hope she takes my advice.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Hope once the tambaram over-Bridge is partly opened (on Mudichur Road side) there is some respite.

Re: Thread exclusively on Tambaram, residents please chip in.

VW2010, my wife was stuck as well and I gave the same advise. She mentioned that the train is overcrowded at Paranur station as the entire Mahindra city boards. Still insisted her to take the train. The other issue is with the infy bus which has 3 X 2 configuration with an akward seat angle and sitting inside the bus for long hours is really suffocating.

I don't think the issue is completely due to the Vandular/Tambaram fly over. The metro construction has resulted in moffusil buses take the bypass from Koyambedu until Perungalathur bypassing Tambaram which makes Perungalathur as the new hub instead of Tambaram. If you notice the traffic at Tambaram is a bit streamlined. Most of MTC buses are extended to run that side. The traffic jam starts at Vandalur all the way to Perungalathur gate.

There is a road that links the VandalurZoo- Kelambakkam road to Camp road via Bharat Engg. college. They are relaying that road and if they can complete it soon, it could provide some respite.

I agree. But the reason for traffic on the side of the road towards chennai is not because of the moffesil bus but because people needing to go to Vandalur(inner) and tambaram(Inner) want to take the perungalathur gate. This in turn blocks one lane and the signal near perungalathur only adds to the delay.

They should construct a bridge in perungalathur or atleast a sub way like tambaram to ease the traffic.

As I said, if the bridge is opened people who use the Perungulathur level crossing can now use the bridge and reach via Old-Perungulathur.

For people coming from MCity and trying to enter perungalathur, i dont think tambaram bridge is an option. I would hate to travel another 5 kms to just cross a gate.

vandalur to Perungalthur is where the traffic is. I guess the Vandalur bridge is the only option to reduce traffic in perungalathur.

Re: Thread exclusively on Tambaram, residents please chip in.

Guys,
Totally agree, there is a lot that the govt has to work on that part of the road. I used to go till MM Nagar earlier, during the 2007 then it was far better. But nowadays post many S/W companies opening in GST, the road is really bad.

The worst part is that, there is no alternate for GST at all. Anybody going thro there must only go thro GST unlike alternates that you have for the OMR.

@VW2010, But there is one option, in case if you are in Camp road, you can try taking the road thro the Bharat engg which goes till the Cresent college junction. But not sure about the road conditions now. Earlier, that road used to be great.

Last three weeks the traffic is more to even reach the Vandalur junction. Feels like taking chengelpet route to Kancheepuram and getting into perunglathur is much faster(My personal Heights of irritation)
