Yes, my plan is still on. I reached Delhi on 9th. Drove down from Pune.
If I hang around in Delhi till Aug, then I will join the troops in Delhi/Srinagar else I will be part of it from the beginning.

There will be 1-2 people in my safari. Wife is also tempted to join. She wanted to know if there are any other ladies in the gang?

Oh Sir yes that was meant to be Ajay , god knows where did I write it as Amit . Ladies in the gang , well I believe is a bleak possibility , for many reasons, though its still on the radar .

Fantastic thread, thanks for everybody posting in it.

@Nonstop- Road to Chandratal, last year had disappeared, not sure this year.

Three of us from blr are planning to do the same either on a cedia or a safari this year, who ever is willing to take the beating :-), starting on Aug 1st.

Actually, I planned for a Delhi - Shimla - Kaaza - Kunjum La - Chandertal-Leh (and of course around) - Kargil - Srinagar - Delhi starting 25th of this month, but had to call off as my friends couldn't arrange for leaves.

If anyone is interested, I'm still game for the trip.

I am planning a trip on RENTED motorbike from Delhi/Chandigad to Leh and back from Aug 27 - Sep 4. Is anyone planning a bike ride during this time, if yes please let me know so we can plan together.

Hi guys, I and @adalvi are planning Pune-Udaipur-Delhi-Manali-Leh-Manali-Delhi-Udaipur-Pune trip from 19th August to 31st August. We are taking sleeping bags and tents with us for most of the stay, apart from few impromptu hotel stays.

The route plan below:
19th (Friday) Pune to Udaipur
20th (Sat) Udaipur to New Delhi
21st (Sun) Delhi to Manali
22nd(Mon) Manali to Jispa
23rd (Tue) Jispa to Leh
24th (Wed) Leh (permits, sightseeing)
25th (Thurs) Leh to Pangong Tso
26th (Fri) Pangong Tso to Leh
27th (Sat) Leh to Nubra valley (Khalsar) to Leh
28th (Sun) Leh to Keylong
28th (Sun) Keylong to Kullu (157 kms)
29th (Mon) Kullu to Delhi (530 kms)

Perhaps its due to me being a newbie, I do not see option to PM.
My plan is to cross Bombay and halt at Surat ( or vicinity) on 27-Aug, halt near Delhi on
28-th and reach Manali on 29-th evening.

Since you are doing it over a week, I presume you are heading straight to Manali.

Let me know your tentative itenary.
