Hi Avi,
Why not on 26th Saturday, driving 100 - 200 on Sunny Sunday would be Sick to work on Monday.

If we are ready for overnight stay, we can plan Anantagiri, where we can trek a little, have a camp fire at night, and drive back in the morning.

FYI,
Ananthagiri (Vikarabad) Haritha Guest house is open now.

36 A/C Rooms, each room costs 1200 + Taxes which includes free Breakfast for 2, Swimming Pool (long enough but 4.5 feet deep), Free Billiards pool table, gym (who want to work out in Gym there?).

Banquet hall costs 5000 + Taxes (this is unreasonable).

We can carry our own stuff to rooms . I think u got whats in my mind. All rooms are equipped with A/C, LCD (with Tata Sky), Mini Freezer


Point to note: Road to Vikarabad is not so great these days.

Hey Naveen, good to see your post here after ages. And, thanks for the update on that guest house opening up. Sunday works for most as many of us are working on Saturday's and going by past history. Sunday gets the majority votes. Besides, overnighters are not too favorable with majority.

It's about the same distance as Shamirpet was, for most folks.

As for suggestions, a nice drive would be to Belum caves (300 km one way) but that would require an overnight stay. There's an APTDC lodge on the site and it's very convenient.

Btw, some of the team-bhpians met for a quiet dinner yesterday where we enjoyed some lovely Kolkatta style rolls from Baba Chulha and finalized the drive destination as the Nagpur highway.

Plan is to drive the glorious 4-lane highway which is exactly exactly 100kms from Hyderabad and settle down for lunch at any good dhaba in Dichipally.

Anyone has information which dhaba would be good on that route?

Its zimble really. He'll be riding the Ninja for the meet and hence requires a car with AC so that his +1 is happy and keeps allowing him to partake in his passions.

A team member in my group drives to Nizamabad often. He says good dhabas are only at Toopran, which is around 50 kms away. Beyond that, there are a few around 70 kms from Hyd that have sprung up after 4-laning, but is not sure about the quality of the food.

Toopran village also has shops to cater to the thirsty.

We cousins generally drive down to Kalakal Village, Toopran Mandal once in a while for our "Customary Once in a While Dinner Outing with Cousins", which usually ends up being a Full Night Outing at the Dhaba. We leave pretty late from home (around 10:30 PM) and reach by 11:30-12:00. Finish the dining and outing rituals at 4:30 - 5:00 and reach home by 6:30 AM - 7:00 AM.

We generally end up going to Meera Devi Dhaba, as it serves amazing food. Have been their regular patron from the last 10 years. Visited them for the first time, when I was in my graduation second year. Post the first visit, been a regular there. It has a typical Khatiya + Table-Chair kind of ambience. So, it would be a good place to dine.

In case I am in city, shall join you guys. Else, if I am out of town during that period, then shall PM Anirudha/Avinash about whom to contact there and what to pre-order before going ahead with the drive.
