I don't think it should matter. The NH9 makes for very slow progress anyway, and the road to Guntur from Nakrekal also isn't a 150+ kmph road from what I hear.

Appu himself is 90% confirmed. Hence not counting his ride. Neelesh has also offered his Fiesta. If it comes to that, two photographers can be shifted onto the load bay of the Getaway. I'll get decent mattress and cushions for their comfort

Just an unsolicited suggestion :

Since the drive to Suryalanka is planned via Nagarjuna Sagar Highway, would it not be better for people from Hitec & Madhapur side to take the ORR and join directly at the junction of Nagarjuna Sagar Highway with ORR at Bongulru Village, that is, if the ORR is functional between Shamshabad and Vijayawada Highway.

I checked the map and see that after Macherla you propose to take the road via Khambampadu, Rentachintala & Gurzala to reach Dachepalle.

First - this is not very efficient as you are acutally looping back to Dachepalle. Secondly this road passes through too many villages with a lot of speedbreakers, bullock carts, tractor trailers and bus stops. The route I normally take is - from Macherla go upto Karempudi the road to Karempudi forks off to the right just after you pass the main town of Macherla. Then turn left for Pidugralla. You might have to ask for the left turn as it is unmarked but, it comes in the middle of a straight stretch with trees on both sides (tamarind). This road is pretty deserted and passes fewer villages.

It's very much functional. I did it not two weeks back. The interchange connecting NS road with the ORR is also ready. In fact that's where I "made the U-turn" after checking out ORR Phase 2A (and giving BQ a good but not very hard speed run in the process).

I think we need not worry about it as HRH not driving this time around (unless he has hidden himself away in one of the '+1's) .

@ Ani - Check out MMI for the route I mentioned. It goes via Janampadu (left turn before Guttikonda). I took this route a few months ago and it is pretty good.
