Now who has the strength and interest to cover 10 outlets?

I recommend only 3-4 and each place half a plate of haleem should be a good dinner.

Start with Sarvi, then 555 then head to Shahghouse and finally wrap up the evening at Shadab with their haleem and khubani ka meetha.

I'am game if it's on a midweek. Weekends old city will be teeming with people

Which Sarvi? Mehdipatnam is the best one, Sarvi Mehdipatnam makes it seperately and Banjara Hills makes it separately. I found Mehdipatnam to be best as compared to Banjara Hills. Same case with Shaghouse, Toli Chowki and Shaghouse, Shahalibanda. Both are made separetely at their respective locations.

I am game for this option. Sarvi - 555 - Shahghouse - Shadab.

Old City on Friday would be great. We can avoid traffic routes by taking alternate routes like from Khilwat and etc.

Ram Bhai, you deleted FleetMaster from the list. I am updating the list again. Where are the regulars Ravvs, Arcot, Nazim, HRH RR and etc?

I really doubt if 12th would be possible by anyone here. 12th is booked to get Wasted by everyone, hence 12th gets struck off the calendar.

Pista House, Kirkiri, go and wash your mouth with Himalayan Mineral Water once. You've taken a wrong name and uttering it is a big sin. Go do what I said, wash your mouth once and gargle with "Colgate Plax Multi Protection Cool Mint Mouth Wash".

The main reason, why Pista House wast not mentioned was "It's not that great anymore. It's a passee now. The initial fizz has fizzled out. Just how Biryani at Paradise at deteriorated over the years, the same case with Haleem at Pista House. It's not that tantalizing anymore. I would rather not eat Haleem than having at Pista House, this is what I experienced. I really don't know what others have to say, as this is my 2 cents on Pista House Haleem.

RR, atleast be a part of the group. Lets have some deserts post the haleem meet as Avi mentioned about wrapping up the evening at Shadab with their haleem and Qubani ka meetha.

Qubani ka Meetha aur Biryani to khaa hi sakte ho (you can atleast have the Apricot's Desert & Flavoured Rice with Mutton - litteral translation of the text written in hindi earlier :P)

So many years in Hyderabad and not yet developed the taste? Not fair. Haleem is Heaven !!!

Join for the discussion before and dessert afterwards. And, not to mention enjoy the special energy of old city during this festival which should be experienced atleast once during Ramzan.

+1. I had Pista House Haleem at a ridiculous Rs.95 on Monday. Picked up from an outlet at Barkatpura crossroads. It was just plain jane, like any other small outlet and no way worth the extra bucks.

Hmmm! While I have been eating Haleem almost daily. And, all outlets in Himayathnagar are completed. Will file a report in food thread at one go

Except that unlike last year, when I used to down 2-3 singles in one sitting, this time its only 1/2 of the single in a day

re: Hyderabad Meet Thread 2011 Meets_EDIT : Dec 22_Hadippa Lunch Meet

I somehow dont like the haleem served here. Have eaten at shahdaab.

Ate once at shivaji nagar, bangalore which was the best i had till now. It was some daliya type thing and mutton in equal proportions. A little thinner than the ones served here. Also it didn't contain all the extra elaichi and dozens of condiments. Any idea if that kind of haleem is served here anywhere?

And what about the plans for the drag racing championship? Dont even know the location and timings of it. Very enthued to be present there

Vivek - Brother don't even mention anything about that kind of haleem on the Hyd thread; else be prepared to get slaughtered :-p

The haleem you get here, is the authentic haleem. I did try that 'daliya' haleem in B'lore once; will never have it again for sure.

As fo the Drag Meet; I suggest we all meet up at a common point and drive to the venue together..

Its Shadab Vivek. What makes you hate the haleem here in Hyderabad? Have you anytime tried at other outlets.

The Thinner variant of mutton porridge isin't Haleem at all. Haleem is meant to be Thick and should stick to the spoon, when lifted off the bowl. What you are mentioning is more of like Harees/Daliya/Khichda as called in various places. Don't tell me that you got an Elaichi in your Haleem at Shadab.

OT but very relevant for foodies like us.

The dish you ate at shivaji nagar, bangalore is called Khichda, a bohri delicacy which is a concoction of daal meat and vegetables.

What you have here in hyderabad is Haleem, Not Khichda.
