For the Ghazal fans - Jagjit Singh encore

I sense that a lot of Hyderabadi TBHPians are Ghazal fans, so despite the fact that he performed very recently, this caught my eye. I first saw the announcement on today's Hindu's 3rd page.

Sabby; care to elaborate??

Looking forward to the next meet; cheers guys
Simple, as everyone knows Appu's got his samsung tab connected on the dash - with the camera facing the road ahead (mostly.. or an auto in some cases), so the next time we go for the drive he could start from the back of the convoy and pass the others one by one while caning his ride and recording from the dash-cam!! This could make for one great AV of the Hydeez meet
What say??

He already did that on our way back that day. And he told me at the beginning of the meet he was going to record a video of the drive back.

Appu, do you have the video already?

I'm not sure how can he have a concert so soon in Hyderabad as there was a Jagjit Singh concert in ChowMohalla about a week / 10 days back.

That's exactly why it caught my eye.

My reason for posting it here is because Avi bhai was very sad with the just-concluded concert. Apparently Jagjit didn't indulge Avi enough . Maybe he'll do it now?

Yeah, I paid that ticket price of his concert only for one song " Baat Niklege Tho Phir Door Thalak Jayeege" and he sang all other good songs which were second priority to me except for this one

However, the ambience of concert at Chowmallah was magical. Enjoyed it a lot ( Picture below).

Is it right he really is playing again or some website trying to fleece ghazal loving people?

I'm sure the concert is genuine. There was mention of it in The Hindu as well.

The question is how many will Jagjit Sing(h)? This one's in partnership with another Ghazal singer (haven't heard the name before).

Prashanth

Hi guys, posting here after a long time.
The concert is genuine and happening at Tarmati Baradari. Attaching here two links that I got with some info of the same. The other ghazal singer is Tina Sani from Pakistan. The concert is being organised by Roots2Roots, Indian council for Cultural Relations & All India Progressive writer's association. Passes are available at Kalabhavan, Ravindra Bharati.
The Hindu : NATIONAL / ANDHRA PRADESH : Jagjit Singh concert on Saturday

The Hindu : Metro Plus Hyderabad / Events : Ghazal evening

Now, I have booked ourself for night's stay at Taramati baradari for 5th night. Will try for the passes, even if we are unlucky to get that, atleast we can hear it inside the campus .
Hope other BHPians are coming too. A small meet there will be good. It's been long since I met anyone.

re: Hyderabad Meet Thread 2011 Meets_EDIT : Dec 22_Hadippa Lunch Meet

^^Update : Went to Ravindra Bharathi and collected the pass. It Admits two per pass.
Had to really plead the security guard for it. He finally relented, after telling many a times that passes are over, but no amount of further coaxing worked a extra pass. Just got one. Looks like Ravindra Bharathi staff is cornering most of the passes.
Anybody else for the evening tomorrow ?

Guys, time to think and plan for our next drive meet.

How about March 20th or March 27th for a drive meet?

I was thinking Vikarabad. Let the ideas pour in..

I'm out for both the dates due to personal commitments.

Though I would be game for something midweek between 14-18 March as I'm HOME ALONE

Both dates ok with me, however i would prefer 20th (even 19th would do, in case Saturday is ok for others).

Avi Bhai, Holi's on 20th. So do you think, you can go out either in your White Angel or White Annihilator that day? Lest, some one paints it Pink/Red enroute.

WHAT , what about Bam Bam Bhole's Festival "HOLI"? Aren't you going to paint the town red one last time in your Bolero?
