Whatever location is chosen, just make sure that the place serves thirst quenchers for the heat in Delhi . Any "Happy Hours" place would be ideal .

Re: HYD & DEL TBHP Meet in Delhi

Ain't have much idea about joints in central delhi; so may not be much of a contributor but if we are zeroing on Khan Market I'd like to throw in a suggestion for Urban Cafe. I have seen it from outside only and looked pretty decent. Has anyone been there?

Re: HYD & DEL TBHP Meet in Delhi

ohhh, happy hours between 1100 and 1400...that might be a problem.
Plus, I dont think khan market guys have a happy hour policy.
Urban cafe is good.
Route 04 is another one, but their happy hours are 4pm onwards.
Chona's is ok, sort of old schoolish.
International diner is slightly expensive.
Could also head out in in delhi guy's cars to american diner at IHC, but the seating there is such that you cant interact much in a large group, unless you claim the bar.

@mayankk, could you be referring to the American Diners at the IHC (Indian Habitat Centre)? The IHC has easy parking and is about 1.5 kms from Khan Market.

@MileCruncher, the American Diners does serve "thirst quenchers" ;-) though it is not conducive for larger groups.

Morrison's fine for groups.
couple of good and bads, though.
bad: opens at 12.
good: happy hours from 1 pm.
So you hold your thirst for some time, and then all out!!

So can we lock on Morrison's then. I know parking is going to a problem but being on Ring Road, accessibility and further journey shouldn't be too difficult.

All in favor?
As for the issue of when.
Since its morrison's, its gotta be 12 and after.
I'll give these guys a call to find out the timings, and make a reservation if someone can give me the headcount(approx.).

Re: HYD & DEL TBHP Meet in Delhi

South Ext Cafe Morrison is fine with me, except that I find the music too loud and too close to my taste to enjoy any conversation. But I'm okay.

A word of warning, though, Ring Road anywhere in South Delhi is a mess between 12.30 PM to 4.30 PM on everyday because of trucks that have only this window to ply. Also, commuter rush starts early on saturday at around 2.00 PM. From traffic point of view, I would still recommend IHC / Khan Market / Pandara. Also, the Railway Station bound people have a back-up plan from these places, which is the Metro, in case things get hot!

Can we, therefore, fix the time at 12.00 Noon wherever it is? Ayes and Nays please!

Re: HYD & DEL TBHP Meet in Delhi

The Ring Road around South Ex IS a mess at most times of the day. Not sure about saturdays though.

Khan/Malcha are good options.

Flavours (Moolchand flyover) is another option. Is condusive to conversations. Parking and access is easy.

There is a restaurant next to Lodhi gardens too. Used to be good, but no idea of the current status.

If someone is a member at the IHC and is sure to come, Dilli O Dilli and the adjacent bar may be ideal.

Khan scores on the Metro connectivity over other locations.

oh boy.
full circle, this has come.
South ex traffic is horrible, at the best of times.
The one next to lodhi, is the "lodhi", just a little too rich for my blood.

Lets lock onto "route 4" in Khan?

Re: HYD & DEL TBHP Meet in Delhi

Any place any time is fine with me and it's time we started locking our options.

@MC: If hydeez are fine then let's freeze the timings for 12 PM as architect mentioned.

Locked onto khan market.
Noida/IP extn : take a cab, metro will be too many changes, too long.
Noida BHPians, volunteer?

For meet restaurant, guys, please look up khan market on zomato.
bookings can be made even at the 11th hour, so no problem there.
