After looking at Ameo in person, this is the message I carry around...

A car can go over a hump, but, VW (Skoda inclusive) is the only car that carries a hump wherever it goes lol:

What VW guys told me was, the hump is sort of cylindrical where by it improves the vehicle safety upon impact because the hump doesn't yield to crash so easily as much as a flat surface would & this resistance provides safety
