Why not order from Motrpart.in itself? Or was it out of stock there?

Re: Mahindra Scorpio : Issues & Solutions

I got a whatsapp message that they are not in this business anymore. It required more than 2 follow-ups. Not sure whether it is motrpart or the dealer who is selling the stuff online

Re: Mahindra Scorpio : Issues & Solutions

Can the new gen Scorpio be locked from inside? It automatically locks itself when a certain speed is attained, but not that.

If I get down from the car & there are passengers in the car and the air-con is running and they wish it to be locked from the inside. Any help here?

In the older gen Scorpio that I have - lock lever indside the driver's door locks/unlocks all doors, same in the latest gen maybe?

In my Lodgy, there's button on the central console that I ask my family members to press to lock, when I'm out of the car with the AC running. Does your Scorpio have a button like that?

I tried the toggle switch and with a lot of force, it worked as intended. But I had to apply so much force that my finger is hurting, hope it will get better with use.

I wish they provided a dedicated button like that. It is there in mid segment Maruti's [near the PW switches in the door] is there in the Yeti and is present in most cars.

My Scorpio is approaching its 20K service, will ask for a solution, if they manage to do something.

Working as intended (and it won't get much better with use) by Mahindra, after all - it's a vehicle for macho folks!

Re: Mahindra Scorpio : Issues & Solutions

My Scorpio is less than 2 weeks old and already a problem - the rear most door does not open.
The lock/unlock mechanism is working (atleast I can see the toggle switch working) via the key from outside. But the door does not open either from outside or inside. Any ideas? Anycase I plan to take to the SVC tomorrow.

So turns out the problem was that the door stopper was installed incorrectly thus jamming the door. Was a quick fix.

This is a new one, to be honest! I've been using my Scorpio for the past 11 years (as has Styler & I'm sure many other members too) and I've had no issues reported by the service staff re. the heater interfering with the evaporator coil, to the point that the latter springs a leak. Over the years a couple of leaks have occurred in the system (requiring re-charging of refrigerant) but the service staff did not mention the above reason.

In my experience (as a marine engineer on board ships) I have often come across leaks in piping caused by rubbing wear due to vibration - when two pipes in close proximity start rubbing against each other. This is usually the result of carelessness in assembly/layout of piping or due to careless re-assembly after an earlier repair.

I look forward to the feedback from other Scorpio owners on this issue.
Hi

I have faced same problem and got it replaced in Bangalore .

I am attaching some snaps for your reference

Mahindra charges almost 17K inr in Bangalore to replace . Got it from Dr car AC for a good price .

pickup not happening during A-pedal input

Friends
My Scorpio S10 is ~10k kms / 10 months old. Bone stock except I have slightly upsized tyres.

An observation- I notice that around 1500-2000 rpm , on keeping A-pedal pressed for maybe 10 seconds, sometimes there is no linear power-delivery (pick up). It seems as if the engine hesitates for 2-3 seconds before putting down the power.

At other times, it works perfectly fine.

Also works perfectly fine when in cruise control mode - typically speeds of 60-80).

Though if cruise control were not on, then sometimes the lack of power-delivery is apparent - this has happened in 4th and 5th as well as all other lower gears.

There had been a recent brake switch replacement under warranty -for a similar power delivery issue.

I thought it had something to do with the brake switch or clutch release- and had both situations monitored by the service tech using a laptop.
The specific case of A-pedal input for 10s not eliciting a response - did not happen on the test drive.

My questions-
1) What might be causing this behaviour?
2) How can the cause be confirmed?

Appreciate thoughts on this matter from the gurus.

EDIT: Issue resolved! Details in my ownership thread update.

Re: Mahindra Scorpio : Issues & Solutions

Not sure whether I am posting in the correct thread.
Gave my Scorpio SLX 2 WD 8 STR for 80k service at Sireesh auto Marthahalli.
They have quoted a service charge of 14500 + taxes. In addition to that they have given another estimation of 12752rs for parts to be changed . Can someone help me about this. I didn't find any issues while driving but SE suggests these.

Please see attached the details they sent me
