Hey friends,
I am an absolute newbie to car cleaning and detailing and want to seek your advice. After two days of continuously reading this thread, i'm left totally confused where to start.
My question is regarding what are the best, but affordable products that i should invest in with, for washing and polishing my car and would also like to try a hand at detailing.
Experts please help.

Try to read the thread at leisure and you will pick up quite a lot of helpful tips from novices as well as experts.

The following steps are followed by me and might be of help :

Dusting : Regular dusting the dry car with Jopasu duster
Washing : Once a week/fortnight with Meguiars NXT with soft mitt. If car is not too dirty, I use Optimum No Rinse once in a while. For glass cleaning, Meguiars Glass Cleaner is very handy and for tyre I have used only Meg's Tyre Foam to give a clear black look.
Clay : Opti Eraser with ONR as a quick detailer
Polish : I use Meg Ultimate Polish and the results are good.
Sealant cum Wax: I have used both Ultima Paint Guard Plus and Collinite 845. Both lasts around two to three months.

Everything is done by hand using soft microfibre cloths/pads.

Disclosure : I am not associated with any brands mentioned above and have used the same in personal capacity.

Autofresh used to carry it - unfortunately it's now out of stock...

Autotrends has it in stock via ebay

Just check whether you have any use of Megs PlastX after this, if not, better check the cost of a new cluster as it costs 2.3K. Also check with any detailers in your city if they can remove it for a nominal cost.

3k for complete kit doesn't make sense for me, as I need to restore small motorcycle gauges.

Then you'll need to find a detailer who can do this job for you in the city. That will work out damn cheaper

What exactly is ceramic coating? Which brand and product is this?

If the plastic of the instrument cluster is available as a spare it would work out cheaper and better replacing it than looking to restore it
