Menzerna 3000 is a fine cut polish (liquid abrasive), used to remove light swirls and defects in the paintwork.

It is applied either by hand or with a foam pad attached to a polisher (rotary or dual action depending on the person).

The good news is it will wear off by itself in a few weeks as the wax breaks down. You can wipe with 30% IPA to help speed up the process. Washing a few times with Carpro Reset (stripping shampoo) will also help in breaking down the wax sooner.
This has been very insightful, really appreciate your help again!

Re: A superb Car cleaning, polishing & detailing guide

Im a bit late to the discussion but wanted to add my 2 paise.

Water is an excellent solvent. Most of the time it's only the quantity of water used or the particle size of the contaminant that prevents removing stuff from the paint.

At its base level, a simple soap or in this case, shampoo works by reducing the surface tension of water, making the water WETTER. This then allows water to clean better. Additionally it provides lubricants to allow for some glide and the foaming add lifting properties.
Mix in additional compounds with the soap that can enhance the inherent properties or give it extra ones and now you know how shampoos work at the core level.

That slippery feeling you get when washing your hands is actually the outer layer of skin cells being removed by the alkaline pH of soap.

Thank you AJ for suggesting Puris D19. I applied it to the windshield and rear glass this weekend, and all it took was wiping the glass couple of times with it. The glass is so clean that now I see some minor scratches on the glass. Not sure how those came, mostly someone used the wipers when the glass was dry.

Re: A superb Car cleaning, polishing & detailing guide

For a graphene coated car, is it ok replace the normal microfibre drying process with a touchless leaf blower dry off on a regular basis?

Wanted to reduce taking car to car washing since it's very difficult to find folks who do it correctly (Have to painfully watch them swirl up the clothes from underside of the car, all the way to top :( ).
And at the same time not able to find time like earlier days to pamper wash the car.

Since most of the time, it's drying off the car that takes most of the time, trying to see if this is an ok replacement in the process.

Any recommendations on a good cordless leaf blower that can take this job would be helpful.

Not only is it ok, it is the safest way to dry a car, specially a coated car as it’s lighting quick. Under 3 minutes with a good blower. Towels will micro scratch as there is always dust in the air (even indoors) and they take more effort and time.

Cordless leaf blowers are difficult to find in India as the market is very small. Never buy the cheap ones on Amazon as they don’t have the cfm (air flow volume) to dry properly.

I’ve heard people have had good results witg this one by Makita- https://www.industrybuying.com/petro....PET.52870440/

Do call up the dealers before buying, you’ll get better pricing buying from them.

I have been washing my Fortuner myself for last few years and I agree the wet wiping and then dry wiping is time consuming. And when we have to use multiple towels to squeeze them, interchange them will also take more time and effort.

I have got a good experience with the following Microfibre towels. I have been able to use only these 2 towels to completely wipe down my Fortuner dry. Both are available on Amazon. I know their GSM ratings wont be correct still it does a reasonably good job.

ShineXPro PureMagic 1100 GSM twisted loop 50X80 cm MF towel: To remove water, aka wet wiping, I simply spread the towel and slowly pull the towel towards me. Due to large size it covers more surface areas, no need to use force during wipes, squeeze to remove water etc. Just one towel is sufficient to absorb entire water from a car like Fortuner.

ShineXPro Buttersoft Hybrid 1200 GSM large 60X40 cm MF towel: As next step, I use this for complete drying the car. This step is more or less easy as most of the water is already removed. Since this is also large towel, I can use multiple portions of the towel for different panels.

Cheers,

I have used wavex tyre guard on tyres and I am quite satisfied with the product. It gives perfect shine at same time it doesn't attract dust and it is water repellant too. I have applied it on exterior trim as well. It lasts upto two weeks.

Using Wavex tyre guard since a year now. Quite happy with the product.
1)Gives good shine to the tyre.
2)Doesnt attract dust like on some other brands products.
3)Shine lasts quite long as long as you dont shampoo wash your car.

Thar Roxx white seats are a magnet for black spots, it gets dirty in no time. Now it is not possible to get it dry cleaned every week, so is there an effective way that this process can be delayed at least? Some type of coating or product that can be applied on leather?

I tried contacting 3D India for their LVP conditioner but they said they only sell it to studios.

Why don’t you try 3M’s foaming interior cleaner? I have tried it on my i20’s seats. Simple process: remove any dust particles, apply foam, agitate a little and wipe with a clean cloth. It does a fair job. Although it is a black seat so I can’t say how well it will remove black spots. Although, I can feel a distinct smoothness and visible difference in shade of seat material whenever I use it.

I’ve ordered the 3M foaming cleaner but I was thinking if there’s a product that can prevent it from getting this much dirt in first place.

Re: A superb Car cleaning, polishing & detailing guide

Gave a coat of turtle ice seal & shine to my Curvv & the results are really good.
Gloss is decent not upto the level of Carnuaba wax but still it does a good job.
Since it's just a 1 month old vehicle couldn't see much a difference between before & after results.

Also used formula 1 shampoo before applying the coat.

My question is what is the durability of ice seal & shine, given the fact that the car is cleaned by a guy daily ( water only). Will it be beneficial to give it a second coat after 24hrs ?

I've used it on my XUV700 (white). The car was ceramic coated earlier, and probably after 3-6 months I applied Ice seal n shine. It still has the water beading effect and has kept the surface shiny. Its almost 5+ months of my last application. I dont think you need a second coat.

The car is mostly parked in shade, washed once at a service center. I do more of rinseless wash once in a fortnight if the car is not that dirty.
