The reasons why I and probably others stay away from F1 and Turtle Wax:

a) There are a lot of fakes/spurious Formula 1 products out on the market.

b) Turtle wax is a classic brand (my Dad used them in the 70s). Availability is a question mark.

c) There are frankly better alternatives to BOTH brands

If you want reasonably priced products try Turtle Wax if you want better quality try Meguiar's, Mothers or Collinite. Collinite's 845 liquid wax is very, very, serious bang for the buck. There are some exotic boutique waxes priced so high they make your eyes water, but I'd leave them out of this discussion for now.

Can I take it that if I am able to land an original piece of Turtle wax, there is no problem with the product per se, other than the fact that it might not last as long as say Collinite ?

TW is good, but as I said before there are better products available out there. Yeah, I haven't heard of fakes in TW but nowadays it's difficult to tell. Best to buy products from an authorised or reliable outlet.

I was about to purchase collinite 845 a few weeks back, but wanted cheaper options, as I am quite lazy and was not confident of continuing with the cleaning regime for long. Came across a seller on amazon who was selling turtle wax for Rs.. 350- 400. The product looks original enough to me (ofcourse, I wouldn't know better). I have applied it once, about 2 weeks back on my car, and it looks fine to me. My car is silver in color, so the shine/gloss effect is a bit muted. Should be able to try it on a maroon colored car in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks. Tried accessing the site, and can't seem to book anything. Keep getting a "oops, something went wrong page"

edit: managed to resolve that. I guess we will have to provide water to them for cleaning? Being in an appartment, that might get challenging.

why you would not suggest turtle wax products? - Based on my past experience.

I have tried everything from our own desi Waxpol to Auto Glym.

I would not recommend the products lower in the price band like waxpol/f1/tw, simple due to the fact that detailing is hard work, and these products (or atleast a bulk of them) falls short on both show and longevity. It's not worth the elbow grease.

Similarly, I personally feel higher boutique products, through longer lasting/better looking, should be used by pros and/or used for garage queens.

For a car that has to hit the road daily, I would not spend more than 4 hours of a weekend, and should use products that justify their price/performance ratio.

Brands like Megs/Sonus/Collinite/Gtechniq hit that price/perf point IMO.

In the initial page where it showed the details, it was mentioned that this is not a door step service. May be we have to take the vehicle to their place.

I had signed up with Cartisian, was about to confirm my credit card pin, when I decided to step back and read in details. It required the buyer to provide water and an electrical point. Your vendor, has a location @ Wilson Garden, and Jayanagar but also provides doorstep service.
