Chevrolet Optra Magnum - Technical Specifications & Feature List

Team-BHP will now be uploading the full feature list and technical specifications of each car sold in India. This information isn't readily available; even manufacturer websites sometimes don't present all the data (intentionally), while the fancy formats they use make for poor readability. Then, we have some manufacturers who tend to confuse you by listing a glovebox as a feature!! Lastly, the official websites don't follow any standard display order as such, which can make comparisons across cars very difficult.

Team-BHP will follow a standard, easy-to-refer-to format across all Indian cars. With time, this data will be transferred to an interactive website section.

The Optra Magnum LS and LT 2.0 Diesel specs are incorret for :

Entertainment -> Aux Input : Both have AUX input

Convenience -> Sun Roof : The diesel variants do not have Sun Roof

The Optra Magnum LS and LT 2.0 Diesel specs are incorrect for :

Driver Enhancements -> Lumbar Support : The diesel LS and LT definitely have lumbar support

Driver Enhancements -> Center Armrest : The diesel LS and LT have both front and rear center armrest

Convenience -> Fold Down Rear Seats : Both diesel LS and LT have rear fold down seats

Magnum Diesel :
Max power is 121 ps @3000 rpm

The Optra Magnum Diesel has probably had some changes in power and torque specs after a BS4 modification.

This came up on the Spacious Diesel Sedan thread and was discussed sporadically around this link here

About the ICE - I presume there are 6 speakers on both LS and LT now, including the two tweeters on the door, but am not fully sure of this.

Edit: The Max model mentioned in the brochure (which seems pretty old) is no longer available.

Yes, both LS and LT have 6 speaker - 2 front speakers, 2 rear and 2 front door tweeters - really good sound!

Thanks for the info Keyur. If you have more details about the brand, specs etc of the audio system, it may be of use to people considering the Optra (here and at the Spacious Diesel Sedans thread).

Btw, the ICE brand is Clarion. The LS has a MP3 player with AUX in, FM etc.
The LT version has a 6 CD changer
No USB

I am thinking of buying an preowned Optra Magnum Diesel and I heard that Chevy has officially phased out Optra Magnum. My question is -

If I buy this car today, would I face any problems in getting spare parts for next 5 years? what should I check in the car before I buy?
What Mileage should I expect in city?
What would be the service bills typically?

Don't know about service costs and FE but I can definitely comment on spare parts availability.

Every car manufacturer produces spare parts for certain number of years even after discontinuation of the model.

Also since Optra is in market for loong time I think there is no scarcity of it's spare parts as you can also get after market spare parts produced by local companies.

So no issues, you can go ahead with your purchase.

+1. The number of those years are a minimum of 10 years till when spare parts are usually available and for most instances even till 15 years from date of vehicle getting phased out.

Anand, If you like the Optra Magnum then you can get it without thinking twice. Especially now that you will get it at huge discounts on an already VFM price tag.

Mileage will be between 11kmpl to 13kmpl in City and 13-15kmpl on highways
Normal Service Bills should be in range of 3K-6K depending on whether your changing oil or not.

Don't know if this is the right thread for my question. Searched a bit and couldn't find answers, hence this post.

Does anyone have access to the Chevy Optra 2005 specs list? I need to verify few things and hope I can get a PDF of the specs here.

The data provided above says that 1.6 LT has Climate control. But I can't find this feature in my car. Could it be that it was not available in 2008?
