Re: PICS : Celebrating the Rev Counter!

Thanks for sharing wonderful tacho meter pictures and I should admit, more than the speedo, my adrenaline is hooked up with the rev counter and jumps everytime the revs bounce off.

Re: PICS : Celebrating the Rev Counter!

The only thing that keeps me from diesel cars is the Tachometer/mad-revving petrol engines. It's so much worth to see a motor-scream till the red-line! Wow just love it.

I think Murcie's console was quite brilliant! Nobody seems to like it sadly.I just love it.
And I Just love the way the LF-A revs! As someone has already posted the pic I thought adding a video will be a good option.

But,neither the LFA nor the Murcie comes close to mad-revving RTR's rev counter. It revs so madly till the 12k mark that the needle has just come off!

Re: PICS : Celebrating the Rev Counter!

Among Indian bikes, I really love the RTR! The sound and the mad revving nature are the reasons I got one myself, but I rarely use the revs these days

Re: PICS : Celebrating the Rev Counter!

Wow. I am in awe with some of the Rev counters. Thanks all for sharing. Had never seen many of them before

Loved the one on the LFA. The Ferrari's seem to make the best ones, each of them simple, subtle and a treat to the eyes!

I did not like the one on the Reventon. Too much of clutter for my taste. Yeah, they wanted to make it look like a fighter plane, but i think its a little overdone.

I don't know what to share. So, i just went down and took a pic of my i20's Rev counter. Although i hate the fact that its diesel and starts crying after 3.5k rpm, I like it coz its Simple , neat and the blue light makes it pleasing to the eye!

Sounded like a Rammstein sound track. It made 100 in about 4 seconds I suppose. Awesome.

Re: PICS : Celebrating the Rev Counter!

How many of us know the first bike in India to have a rev meter?

It was the Kawasaki Bajaj commonly known as KB 100

Re: PICS : Celebrating the Rev Counter!

Very few things can match the pleasure of redlining a sweet revving engine.
Here's some on-action pics:

Finally, how could I leave out my own one. 07' Ford IKON Flair.

Re: PICS : Celebrating the Rev Counter!

Definitely some interesting tachometer designs out there. From a simplicity and functionality point of view i totally love BMWs for their choice of lights, colors, fonts etc. And I'd definitely like to get behind the wheel of a bimmer with HUD.

Recently acquired a Superb and I can't say i'm a big fan of the "telescopic" gauges but it's gradually growing on me (as long as i'm in the drivers seat)

However I don't know if I could ever get used to a digital instrument panel like in the S class or whatever other cars. Just don't feel mechanical enough.

Here are the pics.
1. 330i
2. M6 (with HUD)
3. Superb
