Land Rover Freelander 2 - Technical Specifications & Feature List
Team-BHP will now be uploading the full feature list and technical specifications of each car sold in India. This information isn't readily available; even manufacturer websites sometimes don't present all the data (intentionally), while the fancy formats they use make for poor readability. Then, we have some manufacturers who tend to confuse you by listing a
glovebox as a feature!! Lastly, the official websites don't follow any standard display order as such, which can make comparisons across cars very difficult.
Team-BHP will follow a standard, easy-to-refer-to format across all Indian cars. With time, this data will be transferred to an interactive website section.
IMP : Please list out any errors in the following sheet; your contribution will greatly help the community, other BHPians & guests. You can point out corrections on this thread itself. Thank you!

Rear aircon vents as well as sunroof are present in both models. Please update.
I am uploading e-brochure and price list of Land Rover Freelander . This will help members/guests to find all info at same place.
Ex-Showroom Prices for DELHI
HSE - Rs. 39,06,203
SE - Rs. 34,40,201
Freelander2 on display at Inorbit Mall Vashi
@Stratos: Would be glad if you could put up the engine power and torque curves - This is not available off the shelf and would help auto enthusiasts as well!
A reference material of similar vehicles to consider would be great too with indicative price points!
Thanx
Nice initiative Stratos, however I had a few suggestions here about adding:
1. The average FE.
2. Power Curve.
3. Torque Curve.
4. Service network (the count of service outlets across the country)
5. Extended warranty.
6. Pics of the vehicle taken by TBHPians/Moderators.
7. Reliability Scores if available/applicable.
8. JD Power rankings of the vehicle.
10. Average Service costs that could be expected, say over a period of one year to three years.

Hi buddy,
Are you sure the Freelander2 has rear AC vents? Because I read somewhere that it does not.
If it does, is it floor mounted (centre tunnel) or B pillar mounted vents?

According to a SE, the service intervals are every 6000 kms & average service costs (oil, filter change, etc) is to the tune of Rs. 10000.
There are no free services.

Rear vents are under the front seats. Has dual zone climate control system.

Oil change intervals are at 12k km, average service costs are 20-25k INR every 12k km.

Aaah, not good. Even Punto has rear AC vents under the seats, they are hardly of any use in our summers, especially in an SUV with such a large greenhouse. I was wondering if it had AC vents on the B pillar or roof or centre tunnel. Thanks.
Hmmm, our running is very low. So you have any idea whether it is 12k kms or how many months/year? As in, my Punto is 15k kms or 1 year, whichever is earlier. Secondly, is 20-25k service charge normal for a vehicle of this category?
I am asking you all this since we are interested in the FL2.

Raj, the Freelander 2 has more than adequate cooling in the back seat area, in the peak of Delhi summer (you'll agree that Mumbai summers are cooler in comparison). I say this because I have test driven the FL2 in peak summer with rear seat comfort in mind, for someone who was looking to buy this (and subsequently bought a
pre-owned Touareg). It also has one of the most comfortable rides as far as SUVs are concerned.
The service interval is, IIRC, 6 months or 12k km. The cost of service was a general figure that is essentially a back-of-the-envelope calculation, based on the inputs from the dealer and approximate prices of oil, filter etc. It's a Tata vehicle, but I hope you won't need to worry about similarities with the Tata (or even Fiat) service experiece!
Hope this helps you to decide about the FL2.
Thanks a lot buddy.
So since I am looking at very low running, I should be expecting a service bill of 20-25k every 6 months. Dont you think that is on the higher side?
I am apprehensive about the similarities in service with TATA now!

What price per service, in your opinion, may be a justified amount?
