Ajmat,i suggest u stop hunting on the net .

Instead of looking for the suspension parts at US,try far-east like Thailand.
S'pore distributor must be telling that becos he must not have stock or for other hassles.

If it were me, i'd call a certain 'Psycho' or 'Domnic' or 'KS motorsports' or 'FRK' ,.... and get it done. A little comission might be involved but no great hassles.

Thanks Nitrous

US provides plenty of options . Quotes over here border on Rs 40k + compared to Rs 15k in the US - big difference no doubt!

Need to figure out exact US model equivalent

Shipping + customs + installation + misc. How much do you end up paying in the end if you buy from the US for 15k?

would somebody be carrying this in person or would this be shipped to you directly.

Courier from the us cost abt 1200 rupees per kg.(ups or TNT) plus customs duty @ 30%.

Well the story now has an ending. Lets look at the options and see what happened

1: Go for standard set up....anything more is a waste !

Naa - too boring and axle tramp will continue

2: Try hard, stand on your head for a set of Koni's

I nearly went with this option - but could not get the exact part no so I was about to source from a tuner in Malaysia until....well read on below!

3: Stick with standard set up and look at some rear suspension mods

Read further on

4: Retain standard suspension set up and play around with bigger tyres

Again read on ..

As mentioned was about to buy a suspension kit from Penang but then last month, I get a call from the old man who was sitting in Vasu's garage trying to bounce Manish's Baleno. SO I began talking to Psycho who sent Manish and V1p3r over in it for me to try. That car really held despite being in 40psi inflated tyres on the ring road. The deal was struck!

Dropped the car off before I went to Penang/Singapore. Psycho and co immediately got to work and completed it in 3 days. She was handed over to the Old Man for his TLC...and a bit of fun. While in Singapore, I got SMS's from him raving about the new rear.

Got back and took it on the inner ring road to K'managala- no breakaway, wow - doubled back and took the turns again (despite sudden road dips) the car did not flinch - unbelievable. Steering was even more precise although some feel is slightly lost (alignment is yet to be done though).

The car has stopped going fussy over bumps and the rear strut brace has tightened up the rear.

This option was far cost effective than my original plan so yesterday, I went and upgraded to Yoko AVS ES100 195/60 boots. Car very controlled on the Outer ring road truck slalom which one is forced to do !!!!

Ride quality is not compromised. Highly recommended !

Now back to the track !

You sound like a satisfied Vtec'er! But what exactly have you / Psycho done? What parts have been changed?

Bushes replaced with one's made as per Psycho's wizardry. The springs were stiffened and shocks rebuilt with new internals designed by him + suspension brace.

Easy to do in theory but the key is in the optimisation and getting the recipe right

Man, If only Bombay had a Psycho! Am sure it was a LOT more cost effective than the other options that you were considering, like Konis etc.

WHy dont you get your Vtec down in June?

I saw ur VTEC at psycho's garage when i visited during the speedrun.
I was astonished after my drive in Mohnish's and Mclaren's balenos.

They were almost as stiff as extreme drag suspension setups.
Psycho's got another feather on his hat.

My car is still running the stock rubber let alone the suspension .. However the car will be in for the suspension work very soon ... I was mighty impressed with the work on mohnish's car .. One feels so very comfortable driving that car taking corners at speeds that one could not dream of .. Just wish he could get rid of the ICE tyres soon ..

Also i had the oppurtunity to ride shotgun in ajmat's VTEC .. Couldnt get down to TDing it .. But old man was mighty impressed with it and so was i ..
