The mechatronic failure is not the worst part.
The worst part is the pathetic after sales of Škoda India.
Škoda India is not ready to acknowledge the faulty nature of mechatronic and is declining a replacement!

It's somewhat lucky as well as unfortunate that you had to experience the DSG breakdown so late in your cars' life especially since the mileage is on the lower side.

It would be helpful if you could shed some light on these points:
  • Is your car a Petrol or Diesel? I think you didn't mention this but sorry if i missed it in the above posts.
  • How much has Škoda quoted for an out of warranty repair?
  • Would you mind sharing which dealer/city is this?

Thank you

Re: DSG Mechatronics Failures: Are we driving them wrongly?

Went through the thread. Too much technical information.

The problematic DSG mentioned in this thread are mostly from the first batches. Have not heard much from recent Polo, Ameo or Vento products.

Is there anyone who has had a long run with it especially post 2014?

Re: DSG Mechatronics Failures: Are we driving them wrongly?

Has anyone tried pasting on some additional heatsinks on the DSG transmission box ? It might help to get rid of additional heat better due to larger surface area. Thermal cement in the centre and super glue/araldite/JB weld along the border to keep it in place. A little gap can be left on one edge to shove a screwdriver underneath for removal

Re: DSG Mechatronics Failures: Are we driving them wrongly?

Volkswagen recalls 2011-2015 Golf, Polo(1.2 TSI), Jetta, Passat, CC, Beetle, Cross Touran, Scirocco with DSG in parts of Asia.

Quote:
The company said the recall would rectify the gearbox's hydraulic pressure accumulator, which was affected by a "production diversion." A failure of this component can result in pressure loss, interrupting the power transmission between the motor and the gearbox.
