I own a 13 month old i20 Asta CRDI (31,500 kms on odo) with climatronic A/C. I usually keep the temperature to the lowest and fan speed to medium. But for last two days, kept the A/C in full auto mode and temperature in 19. I did not find any fault as I was driving for very short distance of less than 2-3 kms. But today when I took my car to pondy, a 70 km drive from my place with 5 adults on board, I noticed the blower air wasn't very cool even after driving for 20-30 minutes. I kept the temperature to minimum and still it did not help. After returning i thoroughly checked the car and I noticed that the blower air from passenger side A/C vent alone was chill and the air from the middle and driver side blower was not chill. Tried all different blower direction settings too and no use. What could be the reason? I'm scared to give the car to local mechanics :Frustrati.

It could be that the flaps to the driver side and the middle vents are stuck in a closed position or the ducts leading to the middle and driver side vents may have come loose. Since your i20 should still be under warranty, have the same attended to at the Hyundai service station. Hyundai's service is quite good so you shouldn't have to be scared taking it to them. All the best :)

What was the external temperature when you found this happening?

It was during the evening when i first noticed. Temperature might have been around 28 - 30c.

Then it's definitely an issue that needs to be looked into at the service center. The reason I asked is that when the set temp is close to the external temp, the ACC often mixes cool and warm air in a manner similar to the way you have described.

Fellow i20 CRDi owner here. One little DIY you can try before going to the HASS.

Clean the air conditioner filter. Its in the passenger footwell area. Removal / Reinstallation instructions can be found in your User Manual / the i20 AC Thread here on team-bhp.

Today tried cleaning the AC filter too but didn't help. :deadhorse

I'm not sure if this info will help you in troubleshooting the problem, but I'll offer it anyway. If I turn on my heater but have the AC compressor switch turned on in my Esteem Di, the passenger side vent and the driver side vent have air at different temperatures with one blowing cold air and the other blowing hot air (I can't remember which is which). You can check if your AC unit is malfunctioning and turning on both the heater and the AC compressor at the same time.

Sorry for the late post. The problem was with the A/C evaporator. Got it changed in HMP and the vehicle returned the same day itself. Now the A/C is super chillrl:.

Now there is another new problem in my car. I'm hearing this water flowing sound from engine bay as soon as starting the car. This happens only during cold start and the sound lasts for 3 - 5 seconds. I checked for oil, coolant levels and they all are fine. I don't find any wet spots below the car too and so no leakages. Once started, there is no problem at all. What could be the reason for this sound? Anything alarming?

^^ That should be the coolant flowing through the lines. Afterwhich the thermostat should stop the flow till optimum temperature is achieved.

If that is the case, why is it happening only for the past few days and why didn't I not hear this sound before?
