Both Autocar and Overdrive use same equipment to test acceleration VBOX which is believed to be over 99% accurate. Then how is it they come up with different timings and that too on the same test track at VRDE. Anyone got any ideas or theories about this

getz

Autocar states that getz has a top speed of 144kmph! and 0-100kmph of 14.4 secs.!!!!

My getz does 0-100 in about 13.5 secs , getting to 155 - 160kmph is no prob!!

could be a misprint in one of the editions,or maybe you're mistaken..
anyways ACI claims 165kph as the top speed of the getz ... most mags return a 0-100 timing of 14.xx sec.
13.5sec is believable for a car with those power and torque figures, but somehow hyundai cars(accent-getz) do not delever the performance you might expect from the 'figures' ,accuracy of which is a matter of debate on this forum.

IMO thats not exactly the best way to put across your displeasure(for whatever reasons) with hyundai to some1 who has spent his hard earned money on the car. moreover without supporting reasons your statement is superfluous, and is in no way ,a contribution to this thread.

Cheers !!

Ankit how did you measure your speed? using what gadget, did you take into account the speedo error?

I agree totally with Fiero. No doubt there are a lot of issues about Hyundai that are not entirely ethical like their over-the-top advertisements that they resort to, their styling of cars is also questionable but then its not right to generalise things and write them off totally without appropriate reasons.

Cheers

all these mags can be a good source of info: for comparing cars because we simply cannot trust manufacturers' claims.
