How effective are wind deflectors?

I see many cars fitted with Wind/Rain Deflectors in windows. They are supposed to "provide fresh air without the gust".

How effective are they? Do they serve any real purpose or just ornaments?

Those are known as "VISORS" ...

Wind / rain deflection ...well maybe. I have it on my ride loox cool i must say Shady Shady but other than that didn't find much use as i dont smoke, ventilation isn't an issue but still ventilation is good with these visors. As the air doesn't GUSH in and u can have ur window slightly open it acts as a exhaust. hmm If u do plan to get them then get a lighter shade as it creates a huge blind spot on the ORVM's at night

it is better to have them in clear colour and without too much of etching on it.
also they are of not much use until they covers about 25% of the window as in some SUVs.

also they are prone to get stolen when car is parked at isolated places.
also they can break very easily if someone leans over your car while it is parked.

think a bit about these and then choose the good quality ones only.
