Tata Nano - Electronic Architecture

Hey all,

I was searching for some journals on battery performances(for my work) and stumbled upon this. Its a old journal/article from 2009 on automotive electronics. Its a 250 page book on everything about electronics, lighting, hybrids, electrical architechture and safety systems on board and upcoming technologies like LED lighting, driver assistance systems and so on. While flipping through pages, I saw this and was in all smiles. If rest of the things are boring, then jump to page: 241.

Quote:
1 Introduction
The potential of the Indian automotive
market is still not exploited: the Indian
financially strong middle class will show
a tremendous growth in the next six
years, so that the potential for automobiles
is 600 million in 2050 [1]. In parallel
the government continues to introduce
more stringent emission regulations and
will therefore legislate the BS4 (equivalent
to Euro 4) in 2010. Although its ‘low
cost’ approach originates from the specific
requirements of the target market
India, Tata Motors is successfully focusing
on other parts of the world: U.S., U.K.,
Singapore, South Africa, United Arab
Emirates, South Korea, China and Bangladesh.
Currently the Nano is prepared
to meet emissions and safety requirements
for sale in the European market in
2011. Further development for the US
market is planned. With the acquisition
of Jaguar and Landrover Tata Motors
shook the automotive world. 6 months
after the Nano launch, Tata Motors takes
the next steps to become technological
leader.

Good info on Nano's Electrical and Electronics architechture and a pic on Pinnafarina design. I never knew Tata has Intedis in Europe, which does designs for Tata's. Anyways enjoy.
