Today is my day to pay up!!!
anyways, the total I paid was 6k!!!

I finally got my car delivered today at 6.30PM!!! I went there at 5.00PM, went into the workshop, The service advior told me car was ready and took the car for test drive and this is what I feel.
-- The rattling sound I had reported still existed but was minimal.
-- The bumper work was not touched. I pointed it to him and then he called up somebody to start working on it.
-- The wash was very bad, I reported softly they had to clean it and polish again along with a rub on bonnet.
-- My clutch is still very hard, I don't think they have worked on it.
-- Rear hatch ringe niose... worked on last minute after I reported
noise was still there.
2 surprises
------------------
1. They changed the rear shock absorber set and didn't inform me.
They showed me the replace part but I really don't know if it's from my car. But I think I will accept it as I see some remarkable difference in ride. dumpiness is reduced a lot.

2. The Oil supliment costs 335/-!!! as much as the oil itself (341/-)!!!
I check up on net and out a URL with mentions that it is for new vehicles with 50k running or less only. Need to question him again.

Everyone blazons out that Fiat cars are expensive to maintain and you always have to run to the service station for the niggling problems which always troubles Fiats. I've heard about this especially in the case of Palios. Is that true ?

Just few months ago, I happened to see the spare parts cost list of Palio and I was was stunned to note that the costs are almost same as that of other hatchbacks like Zen/santro/WagonR.

Palio owners please respond....

Just got my Palio GTX serviced on Friday. This was routine service, and the total cost came to Rs. 1900.

This included oil/fuel filter and engine oil replacement + top up of other oils (Rs. 682), Engine Analyzer checkup (Rs. 350), Water Washing (Rs. 350). Interestingly, the labor charged for replacing the fuel/oil filter was Rs. 225. There was also a Rs. 100 labor charge to 'top up other oils'.

I could have cut costs by Rs. 700 by not opting for the analyzer and wash.

new Honda City Gxi (2004)
C Segment
Service cost (regular with only oil change) = 1192.
Service cost (40K) = 1800 labour + 1500 (labour for fuel injector cleaning)
At 40K, they change air filter (do not remember the cost) and spark plugs (Rs. 71 each, total 8 no.s) as well. Total bill for 40K service = Rs. 5983.

Anyone with different figures ? Please share.

Got my NHC CVT serviced yesterday for its 40K service.

Spares cost ~ 2800 (air filter, oil filter, engine oil, CVT oil, drain washer, fuel filter, 8 NGK spark plugs)
Labour (incl injection cleaning) ~ 2900
Total cost = Rs.6632.
Dealer - Deccan Honda Pune

Had asked for ECM report on HDS (Honda Diagnosis System)....no error codes detected.

Post service observations:
1) idlling speed more by arnd 100 rpm (will check again). earlier needle used to hover on 800...not its little more.

2) had intimated the service engineer abt problem of a very minute jerk in CVT during initial pickup- problem not yet solved completely.... CVT owners do u also face this small jerk?

Hi Nimish,

ECM report!

I did not know I should ask for this.

Where did you find that we should check this ?

Anything else to be aware of generally about NHC maintenance?

hye anand,

its just for the sake of my own record, i asked them the ECM report. one step ahead, i had asked whether they reset the ecm for 40K/80K/... service; but the enginer didnt seem to know that....he said they usually do not take risk in such 'electronic' issues unless car faces some serious trouble.......then i've invited him to tbhp

well i do not think anything else needs to be chkd for maintenance...my suggestion is to re-confirm each and every point in your job card, whether they've worked on it or not....(in my observation/s , they don't do many a things except mentioning in the final bill)
