Steer-by-wire hitting the roads - bad news or bad news?

Drive-by-wire tech introduced back then made throttle response precise. Ideally, steer-by wire should make steering response/handling sharper. Sadly, this most definitely means that the only connection between the driver and the tarmac will get snipped. Sad times ahead

I wouldnt be so quick to draw a conclusion. If the feedback is electronic it can be made to feel like anything ones heart desires.

Re: Independent steering system

Nice technology. Probably the "ABS" of steering. But in a quick glance, seems more prone to failure too. Probably will take some time to getting used to.

Also not sure how good it would work in India, especially with the camera system as Indian roads are not so cleanly built or marked.

I wonder if it will be legal in most countries. An old world (ie mechanical) backup system is required for all safety related items if the primary actuation means is electronic.
