@Randhawa: The price you have quoted are the cheaper parts of BMW! The OVRM is almost Rs. 78000 and in case you happen to just break the mirror then it will cost you a jolly good Rs. 32000.
OEM electrical mirror cost around RS 30,000 and double the price in India does not makes any sense, just plain day light robbery.

In future if you ever want to compare parts prices then do give a visit to
www.realoem.com and www.bmwofsouthatlanta.com.

If you have a relative in UK or US then do source the parts from there.

Re: Infinity Cars (BMW Dealer) wants Rs. 4,000 to Re-charge the battery!

How complicated is it to have the battery replaced in the BMW? My car is now out of BSI and seem to need a battery replacement.

Also, does anyone know how much this would cost at the dealers? Do any diagnostics need to be run after the new battery has been fitted or its plug and play?

It should not be much difficult if you find the correct type but more importantly size which fits neatly . Regarding prices last time they ran a profile for my X6 it was around 85 % & the estimate for new one was around 28,000 but that was @ Euro 70 - 3 months back , they must have increased the prices by now . Depending on your car model prices will differ if the price difference is not much with local market you should stick with Dealer but if they are like twice or more & you find something similar pick from outside , I doubt if BMW produce these on there own ?

Re: Infinity Cars (BMW Dealer) wants Rs. 4,000 to Re-charge the battery!

Just a short update: I got a message on my BMW iDrive "Increased battery discharge while stationary, some electrical consumers may have been switched off" so decided to get it tested at BMW Infinity Cars Chembur. I will let you guys know once I get the car back tomorrow.

Also, they suggested I get the wheel alignment done since it was never done in the past despite having driven 23,000 kilometers. Cost is a whooping 5977 rupees.

Do you guys why it costs so much? What is so special?

BMW approved battery from dealer costs 30 grand Amaron has replacement for 12 or 14 when i checked. Maintaining a german in India is indeed a harrowing experience, esp when the dealers catch you by the ear and deny claims if you get things done outside.

I got my car back yesterday and the battery was replaced under BSI. Cost is Rs. 42,000 including the labor. I had to pay Rs. 5551 for the alignment!

Re: Infinity Cars (BMW Dealer) wants Rs. 4,000 to Re-charge the battery!

A little off topic, are there garages you guys use for the BMWs when the warranty is over? I am looking to pick up a less run older BMW and was wondering if there are less fleecing and trustworthy individual garages that can help keep the machines in shape. I am looking for recommendations in Mumbai

Infinity cars in the news today.

Quote:
BMW DEALER HAULED UP FOR SELLING 2-YR-OLD CAR TO BUYER

In a setback to a city-based BMW car dealing company, the Maharashtra State Consumer Disputes and Redressal Commission held it responsible for misleading a builder into purchasing an old 2011 BMW SUV, instead of a brand new one that he had paid for in 2013. Consequently, the commission ordered the errant Infinity Cars Private Limited to replace complainant Jairaj Kalyani's BMW X3 3.OD with a new model or a better one manufactured in 2013.

But how come the owner did not realise the difference while taking the delivery?

It reads the owner discovers it after he got the papers of the car, Very bad on the infinity part though.

Infinity is pretty straight forward when it comes to these things. I am sure the owner was made aware that it was old stock he was buying. Possibly the few issues he faced made him go after the dealer. In all my dealings and my friends dealings with them, Infinity has always made it clear when the car was manufactured.

Also he got a 7 lac discount, which would not have been possible on more recent stock.

Yes i too have heard positive things from Infinity so this one seems a bit odd, Specially the owner who's spending his own money isn't able to know what model or car he is taking delivery of? Sounds weird.
