anything less than p2w of 100bhp/ton is not so exciting!

OHC VTEC with 106 horses and weight of about 985 was giving 106/985*1000 = 107.6bhp/ton and this something really good.

it is not that cars with 95 or 99 bhp/ton are less exciting, but just to draw a line, imho, 100 is a minimum requirement for having a car which is real fun to drive!

if i m not mistaken my 2002 baleno's specs read 860 kgs. will confirm again and get back on this forum. nyways, the true power of the car is not only BHP/TON but also the touque it produces. if u follow the link posted by GTO (http://www.indiacar.com/index2.asp?p...00_0/index.htm) u will see that there are cars which have lesser power to weight ratio but have better timings.
Hey Naveen..!!!
In the 0-100-0 test The Baleno has done 100-0kmph in under 4sec....Its hard to believe that it was done with stock 165 tyres If its true..!!! SUZUKI rullzzz....

Venkat, there are many threads in "technical stuff" on this forum which discus torque, power & rpm etc. Torque and power are two sides of coin, which boil down to torque curve of the engine. Hope some of my old posts in this thread make it easy to understand:

Regarding weights, you should use kerb weight (which is inclusive of full tank of fuel, if I remember correctly) + additional load . You had probably used gross weight specification initially which is actually max. allowed weight by the manufacturer.

The Baleno was fitted with 185/60 R13 tyres.
