Diesel clutch release bearing installed in a petrol car. Possible effects?

We got our Linea 1.4 clutch + release bearing replaced recently. I was looking at the bill and I noticed the Part # 59116565 is the diesel 1.3MJD clutch plate's release bearing.

How did they manage to install it? And what possible effects will this have?

re: Diesel clutch release bearing installed in a petrol car. Possible effects?

Installing the wrong clutchplate release bearing can cause the clutch to wear out faster at best, and can cause a whole host of power transmission problems at worst - slow response to hard acceleration at start etc.
I suggest you ask the service center people whether the clutch release bearing is the same in both the models. If not, ask for a free replacement.

Edit: Since it has been almost a week since you posted the query, I'm interested to know any updates.

Thanks for replying
Yeah since then I had mailed Fiat's Customer Service, and they said the petrol and diesel use the same clutch release bearing. Got confirmation on a fiat forum too that they're interchangeably using the part on 1.4 FIRE and 1.3 MJDs (no idea about the 1.2 petrol or the T-jet).
