Re: Ford recalls 1.66 lakh units of Figo & (Fiesta) Classic

Gave my Fiesta for RTB Replacement today at Metro Ford on St. Mark's road.

The SA said they will first check if the part needs to be replaced based on a procedure and then will be replaced if required. Now I'm wondering if they will replace or no even though the site says my Fiesta needs the RTB replacement.

Did you tell them that the site mentions that you are included - or was their system not showing your car?

I told the SA that Site did mentioned that RTB for my car needs to be replaced. So he mentioned even though the site says so, they have some checks to see if the RTB has to be replaced or no.

Anyways, as per SA's call, update is RTB is now replaced but not the hose pipe. Will post the pics in the evening after taking the car.

Re: Ford recalls 1.66 lakh units of Figo & (Fiesta) Classic

Yesterday i gave my Figo TDCI for Field service action, The Service executive told me that they will replace RTB only if there is any issue.
Later during evening SE called back and inform that my car doesn't need the RTB replacement since there is no issues found in the RTB unit.
Though My VIN number entitles the field service action for RTB according to the link
http://www.india.ford.com/ford-servi...service-action

I wonder how/what they check and make the conclusions.

For this very reason, I was bit adamant with the SA that the part HAS to be replaced and not to give me reasons that it's all fit and fine. Also told him about TBhp's posts and discussions hinting that I will escalate if I am not satisfied at the end.

Here the Service executive said clearly that they will replace ONLY IF there is any fault found during the check, I saw one more Figo owner taking back his car without any replacement.
I don't know whether we need to ask explicitly to replace.

Anybody here came back without any replacement on this Field service action?

RTB Replaced!

Got my Fiesta back after the RTB replacement. The SA put the car on ramp and showed me the newly installed RTB. He said hose pipe needn't be changed.

As per SA, the ASC have been given a tool to measure the RTB for bend near the welds and if found faulty, only then the RTB will be changed.

The obvious complement was free complete car wash!
Thanks to SA - Mr. Bhoopathi of Metro Ford on St. Mark's Road for co-coordinating well with this task!

Re: Ford recalls 1.66 lakh units of Figo & (Fiesta) Classic

Checked for my May 2010 Figo TDCi - No action required.
Earlier I had my steering hose replaced under warranty, as part of regular service cycle. I didn't notice any issue. SA told me that they have observed some leakage and have replaced.

For the RTB, they have done the die test and found no issues earlier.

Re: Ford recalls 1.66 lakh units of Figo & (Fiesta) Classic

Got my July 2011 Figo TDI checked at Modi Ford. They checked the RTB by measuring the gap between the 2 bars of the RTB with a die and declared it ok. Steering hose pipe issue is with petrol cars only, I was told.

Supposedly it is the replaced RTB that is being recalled again . Dropped off my car for the 30k service today and the SA said they will check the RTB again and replace if needed although it was only the PAS hose that was listed for my VIN .
Mine is a 1.2

Got the rtb checked on my 1.2 Titanium (June 2012) last month at SC Ford, Mumbai. They checked the rtb for faults, made a few markings on either side and did not replace it as they found no fault. I've never felt anything wrong with the rtb or the rear suspension anyways so I'm assuming it wasn't faulty.
