I recently removed the sunfilms on my 800 and A-Star.

For the A-Star, the glass vibrates and makes noise when lowered. It is fine when being raised.

In the 800, the same happens while lowering as well as while raising it.

Please suggest what to do to get rid of this.

Must be the residual glue.
Maybe you should take it to 3M or equivalent car spa and get the window panes thoroughly cleaned with solvent and then soap and water to reduce the residue.
I guess any left over residue may only go away over time.

First step: Clean the glass so that any residual glue is removed from it.

Second step: Clean the internal weather strip at the door/glass edges, since the glue would have got stuck to these.

This should solve the issue, a good sun film installer/ accessory shop or workshop should be able to help you with this.

Yes, that's glue.

If you want to DIY and have lots of elbow grease to spare, buy two small bottles of paint thinner, some old rag, and you can get rid of the glue yourself. Will take you several hours depending on how crappy the quality of the sunfilm was.

Gum residue is making it difficult for the glass to move. If you want to do it yourself, you can use cutter blade from paper cutter to remove gum residue. You can dip blade in hot water at times to make it easier to remove gum residue.

I hope you have read this thread

Thanks for the suggestions.

Never thought it was glue. Was under the impression that the lower part of the film is getting stuck or something.

Searched the thread mentioned by sukiwa for glue and found two useful posts:

Will keep you updated.

*UPDATE*

Tried Alcohol on the 800. Worked very well, but required a lot of pressure.
Would Acetone be easier? Can acetone damage the PW mechanism or the Nippon Alarm system?

Also the strip on the 800 comes up along with the glass. It has to be pushed back by hand. Luckily that hasn't happened with the other windows.

I have seen the local auto accessories walla use Mr Muscle to remove this gum.
Spary and drench the entire windows with Mr Muscle.
After some time the glue turns into yellowish mucus, which can be easily picked/scraped off.

It is nothing but glue on the glass or glass beadings. I would suggest you to approach any accessory shop and get the beadings cleaned. This will solve your problem. I have experienced a similar situation some years back with my Dezire.

This is only because of the glue. Cleaning it thoroughly will solve your problem.

Best wishes

.

Did you try regular tap-water?
Just soak a rag/newspapers and leave it on the glass for 10 mins or so. Wipe clean with a different rag.
