Rumour: Honda Amaze Air-Con Recall?

Hi,

Recently got a call from Honda Service Center (Automax Honda, Delhi) that a free AC check-up camp is being organized and offered free check up and tuning, washing, polishing and a UV coating free (some kinda polish I suppose!) along with free pick'n'drop for my 9 month old Honda Amaze E MT. Very convincing.. I agreed. Got a call from SA that a part near AC assembly is improvised and they're changing it for free.

Anyways, the deal went smooth and car is back with no visible mechanical difference.

What was the part that was replaced? Any problems/ improvements you noticed in the AC performance after the change? I am not sure if there is any recall for the Amaze as it has not been in any news. Other Honda Amaze owners may confirm if they are also receiving such calls.

Dont know the name of the part, but the SA told a particular batch of Amaze is being recalled. Cant comment upon the AC as have not started using yet.

I had purchased my Amaze in Feb-2014.
till now, I haven't recieved any such calls.

In fact I had a talk early today morning about my Registration plates,
he didn't mention anything related to any recall.

@panky12345: When was your Amaze manufactured? If you are not sure, could you please tell us when did you buy the car? It will give us a fair idea.

I guess other Amaze owners sold gather information and post here.

The 'recall' doesn't seem to be clear hence need more information to clear out the air.

It's a good thing that the manufacturers in India are adopting global best practises & are recalling cars to fix issues. However, I still loathe the surreptitious way the cars are being recalled.

Why can't SIAM or the government mandate that whenever a recall/TSB is issued, full information is made available to the customers like the NTSB does in US? It would go a long way in ensuring transparency & the customer need not have to fight with his local dealer if the dealer doesn't keep up with the latest info.

re: Rumour: Honda Amaze Air-Con Recall?

The A/C seems to be working just fine in my May 2013 Diesel Amaze (16000kms done). Due for the 1st year service in the next 2 weeks, I got a reminder SMS about the service, but no hint of any work to be carried out on the AC. Will definitely speak to the ASS if they've planned to perform any work on the AC.

Update: Its not rumour. Got a call from Honda confirming the status of the recall. I said its already been taken care of. He further told that today is the last day.
