Hey i throughlly accept that LPG saves money..
But i cant understand why all cars are not being fitted with it.. or why is petrol still selling at double the price?

just an example!

swift cost 5 lakhs say
800 costs 2.5 lakhs

now if swifts price is reduced to 2.5 lakhs.. which would u buy?
just imagine no of bookings swift will receive.

This is the same case with petrol and lpg.
lpg is 1/2 price of petrol
not much media hype for lpg either
why still oil companies invest on speed 93 , 97 etc..
why is not lpg overcoming petrol, its being here since 3 yrs or more.?
its available in 2 out of 50 bunks only?

Oil companies don't invest in LPG because they are already earning enough bucks from the petrol itself !!! Nothing more !!!

The no of LPG stations is getting increased day-by-day....

So, if there is enough media hype for LPG, would you agree that it is the better choice ???

Guys, Thank you all for giving me a clear picture on fitment of LPG in Swift. I decided to go in for LPG during June'06 itself, but dont want to play around in warranty period. My second year of ownership is getting completed by June'07, but completely forgot that I had crossed 20k few months before itself. Hence completed the warranty period.

Iam getting the customized piping for fixing conical filters next Monday. Thanks PJ for Ractive conical filters & special thanks to VIPER for piping. Once this is completed, will be installing the LPG kit very next day.

I hope to drive more at lesser cost without compromising the pick up (atleast to a greater extent).

PS: I was told that after every service, you need to take the car to the person who had fitted the LPG for tuning. Is it true?

Is this applicable, even if conical filters are there in place

Not true, unless the service guys tampered with the LPG tuning.

I thought of getting a second hand zen and fit it with an LPG conversion kit. but finally ended up buying a new santro as the cost of zen became very high after its production was stopped.

Now i like to fit an LPG conversion kit in my new car after my first service is over. people in hyundai say the waranty will be lost but i feel should go for LPG.

What do you BHPians think about my decision. should i go for it or i shouldnt? please advise.

It's a personal call Harsha, Warranty will certainly be lost when you fit a LPG kit. I have a 4 year extended warranty that I lost due to the kit. I converted at 5000kms.

I was confident that nothing bad would happen to the car with the kit. The install has to be done proffessionally, else it will affect the car. Tuning is another headache. Find a good installer.

dear ajo,

How is its performance and reliability. How many kms since installation. Closed loop or open loop. mileage etc. Many members were reporting complaints on their lovoto kits, so i wanted to know about brc s' reliability.

My tata-fiat dealer is installing brc kits without ceasing of warranty.

I have three years warranty. but i think its better to install it considering the running cost.

Now again im confused on when to install. my first oil change is in 10000 kms. i thought oil change will be done in first service. now confused if its better to wait till oil change or just go for it after first service itself.
