Thanks Gannu_1. I have Laura Ambiente as well and want to try the mods you have done with yours.

Unfortunately the link you mentioned is gone. Did some quick search, is this the one that I should buy? Please confirm as I have been cautious in ordering to ensure that it works with my car.

Thanks in advance!

- Enabled cluster staging.

- Changed lane change indicators from 3 to 5.

- Enabled hazard lights flashing for emergency braking.

- Activated DRLs (a light in the fog light cluster remains on now).

Couldn't find the setting for tear drop wiping for front wipers. Couldn't enable cornering lights using fog lights. Might have to spend some more time to figure out these.

Yep that's the one. Although I cannot guarantee that this cable would work, 99% it should.

Looks like your original link is back. Is that now having some updated firmware? Also noticed an increase in price.

guys who have the cable and done these settings....

1. is there a way save the stock settings of the vehicle before you start tinkering with the car ?

2. can you revert back all settings with a single click or do you have to change back each one by one to stock settings ?

thanks.

1. Do a complete scan and save the file. This file will have the coding for each module.

2. There isn't a 1 click method to revert back. Use the above file and feed in the original codes in each module to revert back to original settings.

I have heard that certain changes in coding are irreversible. Not sure which are those ones, so be careful with changing codes. Go through forums and try out ones that have been tried out successfully by a few in your car model atleast. This is one way of being safe.

re: VCDS (Vag-Com Diagnostic System) for VW & Skoda - Discussion Thread

Finally got the cable after nearly 20 days last week. But I don't have a windows laptop. So, had to wait till yesterday to get it from my friend.

Enabled the following on my 2014 Polo 1.5 TDI

1) Increased the lane change indicator blinking from 3 to 5
2) Enabled the indicator celebration/Needle Sweep
3) Enabled the Accoustic(horn) Locking confirmation. It was very loud, so disabled it back agian
4) Enabled tear wiping
5) Enabled the Emmergenecy Flashing(tail lamps) during the hard braking.(How to test this )

Guys let me know if anything else can be tweaked.

You could also try the following
- Change the "mute" key in the steering to "Push to Talk"
- Change the brake settings
-- "Hydraulic Brake Assist" to "Early"
-- "Expanded Electronic differential Lock" to "Storng"
- Change the "speaker volume for the rear park assist"

Note: These were available for 2013 Polo GT TSi. I am not sure whether these are available with all VW cars.

Not required for the facelifted Polo since the new steering comes with the PTT button on the right spoke:

Not possible since this is a TDI (not even the GT). These options are only available on the TSI since the TSI comes with ESP.

Hey Gannu, I tried making this change for my facelift TSI, but there is no response from the controller. The software tries to read it 3 times, and then gives. up.

I have been able to make the rest of the changes easily.

Any idea about why this would be happening?

Not sure Lalit. Does it say Coding Accepted when you enter the values and exit out? Open/close the driver side door, take the key out and insert it once again. Same response?

Not sure if the new controller is causing it. What is the part number of the BCM?

Will need to check this. Will get my cable back in a couple of days as I have loaned it to my cousin. But, another fellow member is also facing the same issue with his pre facelift GT also.

re: VCDS (Vag-Com Diagnostic System) for VW & Skoda - Discussion Thread

Hello Folks,

Does anyone knows where I can get the VCDS cable in Pune ?
I would also be looking for someone who can help me with an accessory shop who can help me retrofit my ICE.

Regards

re: VCDS (Vag-Com Diagnostic System) for VW & Skoda - Discussion Thread

Today with the help of Sugesh, i managed to activate the following:
1. Needle swipe
2. Tear drop wipe.
3. Increase in wipe frequency according to the spped of the vehicle
4. Emergency brake light flash

He also asked whether to activate 'something' that will automatically apply brakes while taking turns at high speeds. But as i am not knowing about it, i didnt go for that.
