strange problem guys..all's fine in my Swift VXi till 150-155 kmph. When I cross that speed, I get an audible tak tak noise from the front right wheel.

The workshop guys had a look at the wheel and said everything's ok. Its pretty tough to replicate this problem in Bombay city too! I got alignment+balancing done 500km ago...

Shall I ignore the problem?

Ok.. help me guys.

Swift ZXI, all was going on well. After first service i am able to hear all kinds of sounds from the car.

1. A electic kind of sound which comes at intervals on some days from the front of dashboard.

2. Another sound like of tic tic frm the dashboard itself or steering column i believe.

3. Add to it a sound like a thermocol is being flexed from the dash.

4. Now today i get another sound from the rear right side... cheeck sound once i go over a pothole or speedbreaker.

Can anyone help in knowing what to look for and get them resolved.

Go back and give them a demo. Ask them to fix it!

I have experienced a similar problem with my wife's Chevy Spark. The problem in my car case was that the workshop guys use substandard dashboard cleaning agent, and when this by mistake gets applied over any rubber part (like the door gaskets) they start squeeking. This is more pronounced over rough roads due to flexing of the car body and rubbing of the gaskets.

Try cleaning the door gaskets where they touch the body of the car.

I am getting a weird kind of sound from my Wagor R.

It comes at only low speeds, sounds like dragging one end of a tin sheet on the road.
From the front left hand side of the car.

Goes away as soon as I accelerate. Is irrespective of the AC being on or off.
Can only be heard if there is a wall nearby to reflect the sound.

Unable to reproduce it at the A.S.C.

They however went ahead and did a complete check up, specifically the brake pads.
As per them the vehicle is fine. But I still get the sound as long as no mechanic is around.

Help please.

^ a better description of the sound is how the loose chain on a motor cycle would rattle.
For bikes like the HH Splendour.

Is it a series of tik-tiks that you hear? Could it be the left drive axle? Wheel bearing?

Definitely not a tik tik kind of sound.

Its more like a continuous grinding kind of sound that a loose chain in a motorcyle produces as it hits a closed chain guard.

Disappears as soon as I increase speed, except when I am climbing a steep slope upwards.

OK. one more thing that sounds like it.
scrapping a speed breaker.

Ok, after the timing belt replacement, iv been hearing this very mild whining sound (like a tiny electric motor) from the engine bay. I can't hear it when idling but its starts at around 1300rpm.

Took it back to Honda, they checked it for about an hr and said it was nothing. (they just did a visual check so i dont trust their reply)

I did some reading online and found that if the belt is too tight, it can cause this sort of sound. In some cases, the sound came for a week or two and then went away by itself (prob due to the belt expanding)

Can anybody with experience confirm this? Coz i hate hearing any sort of unwanted noise coming from the engine bay.

Timing belt Tensioner, Shan2nu?
Im guessing its the timing belt tension, coz there are many threads like these online and some got rid of the whining sound after they got the belt tension readjusted.

I just hope the sollution to my prob is as simple as that, coz there was no whining sound before the TB replacement.

Heres one - Whine after Timing belt replacement - Honda-Tech

Shan2nu - Does it sound like the old Zen engine used to give out a whine?

I got the timing belt + bearing changed very recently and have been hearing a slightly different engine sound too (don't know if I can describe it as an electric motor), like a whine, which I remember was present on older Maruti Zens.

Never knew that this could be wrong!
