Most of the above discussion is in my opinion not relevant unless we answer this very simple question first:

Does the oil need cooling?

If the answer is no, there is no reason to add these contraptions, other then they might look cool to some. Good enough, I've added any number of bits of pieces to my cars to make them look cooler/smaller over the years.


If the oil needs cooling, my first question would be why? There is something seriously wrong with the engine design. If it does need cooling I would rate this gadget next to useless. Google "how to design an oil cooler" and you will find quickly that it takes a bit more then this gadget.
