high fuel consumption in indica dls

hi guys, i have a 2002 model indica dls.i used to give me a mileage of 16-17 kmpl in local city driving in chandigarh.it has done 90000 km . some 7-8 months back i got the pump overhauled by lucas it was okay for some time but since last 4-5 months its average has dropped to 12-13 kmpl in local driving.i have been to every good mechanic they sometimes adjust the timing but the mileage hasnt improved a bit.the engine is consuming some oil also.what could be the problem guys for the low kmpl.please help guys because i cant figure it out.

90,000 Kms? No work on the engine yet?

The oil consumption is a good indicator that all is not well with your engine.

One of our 407s ran around 180,000Kms before engine overhaul- But it had reduced load carrying capability and used to cry on being overloaded.

Time to overhaul? Suggest you better check with your mechanic, based on his comments you can make the call. Technically, yes, you can extract many more Kms
