Possible, but neither TML nor JLR are ECU manufacturers. I'm talking about Bosch, Conti, Delphi and co.

A software can support / do only that much, what the hardware allows it to. TTL and JLR work only on "interface" level automotive software development AFAIK.

I guess that explains it then, I heard from my A.S.S that sometime in 2010 or near about, Tata changed to OBD2 compliant codes in their ECU software.

Are you able to get the error codes as well? Which scanner hardware are you using?

I bought an ELM 327 clone from Dx.com for about 8-9$ long time back. You can pick up any such generic scanner from ebay India too. Error codes are not a problem, but you have to take a look at the diagnostic manual to find what codes mean.

Thats a relief! I am guessing that the codes will be as per the OBD standards. If so, I do have the manual with me. Thanks!

There are lot of Tata specific codes, you can look them up from the manual attached.

So I got the VGate OBD-II scanner from E-Bay and am not able to connect to it from the Android App. Tried almost all major apps including Torque Lite, OBD Doctor, Fun2Drive etc. The vehicle in question is a 2005 3.0 Dicor 4x4. All apps are trying to read many protocols but couldn't communicate with the device ( Although pairing is successfully done ). Has anyone been able to connect a similar BT device to the 3.0 Dicor successfully?

Sorry to bother you in an old post. By any chance do you have the fault codes for Indica Xeta?

No idea whether those will be different . That said, many Tata codes match. So run an OBD reader and see what does the system say. If you cannot find it online, then the next best thing is to find a friendly tata workshop and use the laptop there. Unfortunately in India there is no law forcing manufacturers to share the software protocol so independent workshops can do same level of debug. So finding a friendly is your only option.
