I have a few friends with Santro Xings purchased around the same time as you picked up yours... it seems that this lot of Xings had some minor defect with the thermostat / thermostatic valve and Hyundai has asked the dealerships to replace this part when the cars come in for a service... so find out whether your Xing was from the affected lot and whether they will be replacing this part for your car.

It seems to take care of the sluggishness and overheating problem (although, in your case, 1/2 way mark on the temp gauge is normal).

See all tyres of the car dont wear out exactly in the same way... So after say about 5000 km its better to ROTATE them... check this...http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/iipcache/39542.jpg
And yes it is free and ensure all 5 are rotated..

i get 13 with AC under any city circumstances ... highway/expressway runs mean 15-16+ kmpl.

SK : i think u should get ur tyres rotated, and list all your problems to the service manager. Before taking the delivery make sure u check the AC cooling or probably take a test drive. Also if engine oil replacement is on the cards, then i'll suggest u go in for Engine flush first then Castrol Magnatec. I'm using Magnatec + STPI treatment on my car for the last 5000kms and the engine is smoooooooth. Anyway my 4th service (The paid one) is due in a week or so too...

Btw where do u get it serviced ? Hyundai Motor plaza on mathura road ? if yes then how do u find the chappies?

ya i get it done by hyndai motor plaza on mathura road... well for me..they would all be the same..as i sjut give my car and colect it int he evening... Do not have much interaction with the service station guys regarding specs.. as I am totally alien to anythign under the hood..... as u can see i do not have any car /car logo on my display image... im a ICE man..basically..well not even ICE..an audio freak you can say......

Will i need to pay extra for an engine flush + Castrol magnetac ..From what I read in the service manual oil chhange is free in the free services...
