Door Lock not working - Repair or replace?

Hi,

I have a Skoda Fabia Diesels Classic which has only key operable door lock, no remote lock.

Now, its not working. When I insert the key & turn it completes the whole circle but it does not open the door.

Went to my mechanic and he said you need to change all locks at dealership.

Now while searching I found couple of videos and this

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/OEM-6...063905713.html

Now please help me.

Will this kit solve my problem?
if yes, has anyone tried this?

or I will have to go to Skoda A.S.S and burn approx 10K for changing all locks..

Bhai,

You can try and check whether its the lock? In my swift i just replaced the linkage which was the problem (and not the lock). Costed me half an hour and just 2k. Changing all locks does not compute. Can you expand on his diagnosis?

Changing all the locks for one malfunctioning lock doesn't make sense, unless you have to change the cylinder. As phamilyman said, please diagnose it to find out if you have to replace the cylinder - in which case you may want to change all the locks (including the boot and the ignition), or keep a separate key for the new lock (not exactly bad, since it provides a tad more security!).
