Your preferred engine oil brand?

Have been using Mobil1 since my Swift Days. There is no better oil that that whether it is synthetic or mineral oil.

Now with the beast (Safari Storme), currently using Mobil Super 1000 TM 15W-40 as specified on the service manual too.

One question though that I would like to ask, can I also use the Mobil1 ESP Formula 5W-30 with the beast? Please let me know.

As far as I know, the Storme is required to use 'API CH4' grade oil, with 15W40 viscosity. You would do well to advance to an 'API CI4' grade rather than changing viscosity.

I buy manufacturer recommended grade oil. Shop owners ask me to go for something cheaper because they generally don't stock the expensive 5W30 grade. I am fine with any of the reputed brands. No manufacturer would deliberately sell inferior quality i feel.

I last used elf 15W40 for my Indica and Mobil 5W30 for my Wagon R. I ensure i replace the oil religiously every 10000 kms. I usually prefer buying online unless i need it urgently.

Btw any one has any experience with Champol, a brand that i saw on Flipkart and Amazon. The oil was very cheap but i am not sure about it's quality. Any one has any info?

I have been majorly getting oil changes at the A.S.S and dont really track what brand they use, but on my Ikon when I was taking it to the trusted neighbor hood garage I used to buy Castrol Magnatec 10W40 and give. Engine certainly felt marked smoother compared to regular mineral oil that the garage guy used once. The oil aged well also and didnt pose any issues despite >1yr service interval

Shell always, did not need to change or switch to any other brand!

Voted 'others' - was using Valvoline for my car and bike for quite some time.

(Note - I said 'was' because switched to Mobil for my car and Eni for the bike recently)
