I did think about this option but that would mean going to a local garage to get it replaced. I prefer to maintain the car serviced at the dealer though it is more expensive. Anyways, thanks for your suggestion.

I did contact BMW INDIA but got only 50% waived off.
I am hoping i can get some email addresses on this forum that i can write to.
If i can get some contact details, i will definitely write to the higher ups in BMW INDIA or in GERMANY.
Appreciate if anybody can give me some addresses.
Thanks

Love my car, live my car -
need my car back on road with "minimum" (wishful thinking) downtime.

My time tested protocol: maintenance @ dealership equipped with prescribed tools & devices, factory trained personnel and oem spares.

Excuse me, nobody is "learning" on my car.
TOTALLY AGREE
There are so many garages who will try to use you as a guinea pig to learn.
I am not willing to risk it.
I have worked hard to buy this car & no one left me a million dollars in their will

nocruiser, as you have stated the car is out of warranty.
They aren't obligated to give you anything.

The instrument cluster costs about $1500 (USD).
So the Rs.60k price including installation isn't too off the charts.

An inexperienced independent garage might actually cost more for a trial & error job.
