There's a lot of stuff I don't know about cars. Coming to think of it, there's almost nothing I know about cars except how to drive one. There are a lot of questions in my head and I'm sure all of you can answer those, so I'm going to begin posting these "Back to Basics" questions every now and then to enlighten me, and others like me.

Let's kick start.. no no, let's Button Start this series with the first question ..

What is a free flow and how does it work?

A free flow is a type of an exhaust system which greatly helps to improve engine efficiency...

It helps the engine breathe better by letting exhaust gasses get out of the engine as easily as possible and this mated to a proper muffler can give a very pleasing exhaust note. It helps in increasing the power output of the engine...making the car more driveable...

But designing n making of a free flow exhaust system shud be done by experts as badly designed systems can damage the cars engine.
