I have found this fuel to work really well and helps with the engine being eager to perform and also engine sound reducing to a great extent.

If it still doesn't help then look at other options. Hemkiran diesels in kolhapur does a wonderful job of overhauling injectors a bit expensive but job is well done. You will have to remove the injectors and send them by bus to kolhapur or else take a break and drive down to kolhapur on a friday and get the job done there. I have got my sx4 diesel injectors and injection pump overhauled from them.

Have managed to get hold of genuine VW diesel injector cleaner from a source. Have filled a bottle for a full tank and I'm already feeling a difference.

Will run the car around more than usual and see the difference over time. Hopefully the extra 'clippety clop' in the morning cold start goes away.

Hello members ! My 2016 Volkswagen Vento 1.5 TDI DSG have faulty fuel injectors. 2 injectors are totally Dead and now engine is running on 2 Cylinders.
I have three options to troubleshoot this problem, which one will be best?
1. Repair the current injectors.
2. Replace them with used injectors (from Scap vento/rapid)
3. Replace with brand new injectors.

Hi TDI,

I have a 2013 Vento tdi that’s done 1.7 lac kms on the stock original injectors and recently inj 2 went kaput.

1. VW Vento come with continental injectors that cannot be repaired. If anyone promises this they are misguiding you. The Bosch and Delphi brands can be repaired not continental.

2. Used injectors are a hit and miss. You might be able to get away with this if you are 100% sure they have come out of a scrapped car with a running engine and they can be checked and cleaned… again used injectors are a hit and miss.

3. I chose to replace my injectors with brand new ones from the VW vsc primarily because I was sure they were brand new and original AND importantly they come with a 2 year VW backed warranty.
PS: if you buy the new injectors from the market and have a garage install them you will not get the 2 yr warranty.

Also when replacing the injectors with used or new ones make sure they are programmed into the ECU replacing the codes of the discarded injectors with the codes from the new ones.

Hi Sid,

Injectors are bound to fail at some point. Mine failed at 1.7lac kms and 9 years later.
You can however keep them in good health by getting them cleaned at a reliable place that specialises in cleaning continental injectors.

You can also periodically use a can of the mobil diesel injector cleaner. Empty the contents into your fuel tank and run the engine.

If your a careful diy kind of guy or you find a garage that will do this then you can also use the injector clearer directly into the engine by running the engine with the fuel line feeding from the can filled with the injector cleaner.

There are a few precautions to be taken while doing this so please be sure if or when you attempt this. There are videos available on YouTube that you will need to refer and be sure about before attempting this. Do not choose to do this yourself if you haven’t done DIY stuff like this on your own.

I have a Skoda Rapid 1.6L TDI, 2014 make.
Same problem with the Continental injectors. Multiple issues with the injectors over the years.
My recommendation would be to get refurbishes injectors from an experienced and reliable FNG.
I tried new injectors but that didn't give any respite as one conked within 6 months and I had to get another one serviced.
Apart from this crazy repeated injector menace I haven't had any other issue with the Rapid and absolutely love driving it.

I got my 2011 Vento injectors replaced. My friend who has the same year model got it cleaned. His injectors are also good now and I feel should have tried getting them cleaned before replacing. It might also depend on how bad your injectors are and then its better to replace them.

It was 96K for all 4. Got it done in FNG in Rajarajeshwari nagar. It was sourced from Skoda dealer, Electronic city.
But I heard it costs the same in VW service since the prices have come down there too. The SA informed me this when I was chatting about having got the injectors replaced outside.

I have been facing injector failure issues for the 3rd time in an interval of 5000kms on my Volkswagen Vento 1.5 TDI DSG.

The first was when I bought it from my family friend in Pune while coming back to Hyderabad the glow plug, and check engine sign popped up and the vehicle lost power and started to jerk.

Gave it to the FNG, and they have replaced the wire connecting the ECU to injector 1, and also swapped injector 1 to injector 2 and vice versa.

The issue was sorted and my friend drove the vehicle back to Hyderabad. So far all good.

On the 3rd day after the repair, in Hyderabad the issue again cropped up, and this time the scanner showed the cylinder 2 injector which was originally the injector 1 that was swapped at Pune FNG.

Now we replaced the injetcor 2 with a used one purchased from Pune.

Everything was good for 4000 kms until last week at Vijaywada I took the vehicle to an FNG to get the K&N replacement air filter cleaned.

Post the cleanup the issue was raised again but this time without any warning lights in the cluster, no loss of power but the jerks at idling and nothing else.

The scanner showed negative values for injector 2 and again it was replaced with a used one due to unavailability in the small town.

1. Now my question is to have it or sell it.

2. Don't want to have an extremely unreliable vehicle at the garage considering my usage is pretty high with continuous business trips around TS and AP and sometimes to visit my branch in Pune.

3. Does replacing all 4 solve the issue or does the issue keep on repeating?

4. And what are the measures to be taken to prevent further issues on the car?
