Not sure, I think they meant that heat the metal where it is bent and then straighten it out. I will still see what those hardware store guys can do rather than trying anything myself. |
Forget the heat.
Get access to a sturdy Vice with nice flat jaws .. Get a few sheets of paper/thin metal sheets to adjust where and how much you need to clamp and use your common sense.
This is a 10 minute job, tops.

Basic science, metal is a good conductor (of heat) and the amount of heat required to make the metal portion soft is more than sufficient to melt the plastic portion.
I see that there are two types of transponder chips for toyota
1. 4D67 chip
2. G Chip
Is there any difference between these two. Are they interchangeable?
I mean can I program a new 4d67 chip and use it in place of existing g chip ?
Experts suggestions here will be of great help

Thanks for the reply. This is for fortuner.
The Key has G printed on it(junction point of plastic and metal)
Without noticing I have ordered 4d67 chip at aliexpress.com.
So now I need to cancel and reorder g chip. 😕
