Hey guys,

I have a conical filter Intake system which is NOT K&N. Its called "Power Flow" and its a really big wire-mesh filter with a big fat rubber intake pipe, Its a Short RAM intake and the same K&N oil is used on it. I also have an APC muffler at the end (no FF setup).

I want to know how bad or good is this from the other material used in K&N? I believe a wire-mesh filter will suck in more air and lasts forever but will dirty the engine oil faster. Is this true? Does anyone else have a similar intake? Don't you guys think this is better than K&N if they can last you forever and give better performance?

I also have another problem with my OHC Type 1 (done 85k), my car starts jerking at low speeds when I leave the accelerator (in traffic) in the 2nd gear, I guess this wasnt really a problem when I didn't have the Intake. What can I do to rectify this?

Mods please help!

Pictures of my air filter

Reviving an old thread:

Here are the pictures of the replacement air filter I had with the small rubber plumbing.

Got new custom piping done to divert it away from the engine bay.

I know I know, will replace the filter too!

Hi Ankit!

Well, there is certainly no problems with the filter. I think the issue could be due to:
1. Fuel quality.
2. The clutch (Though not likely if the car is ok in other gears & when doing a standing start).

Reset the ECU once & check if this problem goes away?

That query was about 2 years ago but thanks for commenting.

Guys I want your inputs on the filter, and the plumbing. Is the piping and location good? If I change the filter to a Simota/Green etc, is the pipe position and direction good the way it is?
