My WagonR has done close to 23K and its almost 3 years now. I have stock JK Tyres with tubes in steel rims. I had couple of punctures in three years and one of the tire wall is also damaged as i went over a pothole at over 80KMPH speeds on a highway. I use that tire as a stepney. Visually other tires look good. Recently i got a puncture again and took it to a local repairwalla. He said that the tube was "weak" and should be replaced. On checking the tube of another tire (which already had 2 punctures)he said those should be changed too. He said on low speeds it is ok to use repaired tubes, but not on highways, where car runs at high speeds for long duration. Is this true? If yes, please suggest what tubes should i get (make)(i don’t want to compromise with safety oif my family). Anyone knows any good place in North Bangalore, where i can replace the tubes with good quality ones and also get alignment and balancing done?

Instead of replacing the tubes you can consider changing to tubeless tyres. Each tube will cost you roughly 300-400rs.
If you still have tread on your tyres you will get a decent rate for your old set and you can upgrade to tubeless which will offer you better ride, handling and will not deflate immediately on a puncture. Tubeless tyres are much more safer.

A good bridgestone tyre shop in north bangalore is Shivas near ramaiah college. they also do alignment and balancing.

If you do wanna change your tyres you should go for Bridgestone turanza ER-60. These offer a good ride and decent handling.

Michelins are also good but are difficult to find a reliable dealer here in bangalore. i have seen large variation in prices for michelin whereas Shivas offered me the best rates compared to any other shop.
