Yeah, in other words- this engine doesn't exist for the world or even the south east Asian markets. What Shan2nu meant was that it is a D15 (JDM) block with a D16Y8 head. Even though its called B15XX it is closer to the D15 than anything in the B-series.

Coming to aftermarket support- its there, one needs to look for parts like valvetrain upgrades suitable for a D15B (VTEC, or N-VTEC is usually specified). All D-series bore diameters are same, so pistons aren't a problem as well. Rods and stuff is a little difficult to get since the stroke is lower than the more popular D16.

Yeah, that was a typo.

D15 + D16Y8 = B15

So once again for a nube who is slightly confused on whose word to take to heart....
essentially what Honda has done is stick a JDM block D15 with a SOHC D16Y8 head that we call a B15 (that does not exist anywhere else)
1.) right?
2.) I want to get this straight before i get my hands dirty are you sure the block is a JDM standard D15?

Quoting the web page i found:
A “mini-me” is an informal name for a D-Series SOHC VTEC head mated to a D-Series SOHC non-VTEC block. Most mini-me swaps consist of D16Y8 or D16Z6 heads onto USDM D15B, D16A6, or D16Y7 blocks. JDM D15b VTEC heads will work as well

I'm presuming that's essentially what it is?

It's a Y8 AT head. Same with the intake manifold and crap 3-wire IACV

So with all this mixing and matching do you think a B series head would fit where the Y8 is?

No, B series engines are twin-cam/DOHC. Only hope is one of the D16A/Y/Z series heads.
