Hi,

I was wondering how are modded cars treated by Authorised Service Centers? Apart from the warranty, do they undertake tuning/servicing/repairs despite mods like free flow exhausts, performance filters and turbos?

Where do you take your modded car for tuning, servicing and regular maintainance?

Same place where u got the car modded....

A very logical question I must say...here's my two cents..

I've got a M800 with freeflow, alloys and a conical airfilter.

The freeflow is okay..not much they service around the exhaust area. However the alloys and filter need some care. I got the mods done at small shops not the dealer workshop as Maruti seems to have a policy against dealer workshops doing mods. Here is my experience...

I service the car only at the dealer workshop. A few points that I take care of are:

ALLOYS
everytime I go I have to remind them not to use the usual L spanner for removing the wheels. Use box spanners only otherwise the alloys get scratched.

FILTER
I always remind them to pack the filter properly before wash and NEVER to start the engine while the filter is packed.

It helps that I know a couple of guys very well and i give my car only to them. So they take some extra care. So it helps if you follow the same.

But all in all mods do make regular service a bit complicated as most often than not you are the person who knows most about the mods in the dealer workshops lol: ...these things ain't anything that they regularly see...but then no pain no gain i guess

Drive on,
Shibu.

Yep you got very few options heres...

1. Service it at the place you got it modded, AUTOPSYCHE for example is a fully functional service station too.

2. Take time out and get your car serviced in front of you. But many times authorised service stations dont allow you to be in the service area.

3. Get your car serviced at a place where the service managers understand the mods and how to take care of them.
